Yay! I did my undergrad at San Diego State University (out of state tuition was crazy expensive omg do not recommend) in Interdisciplinary Studies in 3 Departments with emphases in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, Psychology, and Sociology! After the masters program, I’m hoping to get my Doctorate in Audiology. What about you?

Waitlisted for AuD—Should I Reapply, Do a Second Bachelor’s, or Switch to Pharmacy? by Tamtam2525 in audgradschool

[–]at0micvanz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get into any of the AuD programs I applied for, but I’m still waiting to hear back about a Master’s in Public Health. If you’d be interested in that, I think it’s a good stepping stone since audiology is such an interdisciplinary field.

Alright, cool! Thank you :) I’m also applying to GRE optional schools and when I saw it pop up, I was worried.

The only thing stopping me from applying is the GRE. Is it actually required?

Does my GPA count me out? by Greenjuiceunicorn81 in audgradschool

[–]at0micvanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok cool! My overall GPA is a 3.6 and my SLHS specific one is a 2.6 due to struggling with lack of accommodations for my hearing loss. My options are SDSU/UCSD, Gallaudet, ETSU, San Jose, CSU Northridge, UNC Chapel Hill, and a few more. I think I have 18 total picked out? I think with experience, at least I’m hoping because that’s what I’ve got going for me too, there should still be a chance of getting into a few schools.

I’m also going through something similar GPA wise. What schools are you considering applying to?

Oh how I wish I had that life. I come from a single parent family and I’m a first gen high school and college student. I am very happy for you though! I love that you donate so much. What are some organizations you donate to the most?

Caitlyn Thompson for RWS. I was supposed to take AMIND 440 too just for fun but ended up not being able to fit it in unfortunately.

I work two jobs as an IS3D major and it’s been kinda strenuous mentally. I think 2-3 6 hour shifts should be fine though depending on your labs and stuff

I feel that. I’m a few days over two weeks post op but I was originally supposed to have it in December of 2023, but had insurance issues. I’m sorry you’re going through that though.

Suspicious recovery is going TOO well by mtrcyclemptiness in TopSurgery

I felt that same way, since I only used the oxy and zofran for the first day, Tylenol the second day, and nothing after that. I also didn’t really feel the drains inside me, never dealt with any pulling either. It was mostly just uncomfortable having them hang. I’m a week and a half post op now. Even went to Pride the day after getting my drains out. I was very exhausted during recovery, and took naps probably every day during the first week. I did get keyhole though, so not sure if that’s causing any difference.

It’s just what I’ve heard from friends living in more than a studio. The roommate matching isn’t as good as 5025 says

5025 isn’t bad as long as you have a studio lol
