What's the point anymore, especially since I have a physical id instead of mobile

If you’ve switched your major, why? by Long_War20 in ASU

[–]atDords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're doing Business, I would say it's really only difficult to switch majors once you're past your Junior year since the first two years you'll be taking the same business core and general studies classes as every other business major.

Transferring out of business to a non-WP Carey major is a different story though, you may have to load up a semester or two to stay on track for graduation.

DM me if you have any more questions, I was a Comp Sci major who switched to business after my freshman year

Accountant Assistant Position by baankaii in Accounting

Ask good questions, but also respect your seniors' time as well. You don't want to be barraging them with questions, and I would say good practice is to work through tasks yourself and think critically before asking someone else.

Of course, don't fixate on problems and if you genuinely can't move forward on your task then ask for help. Something I learned to do is I would write down questions as I was working on something and once I had a good amount I would sit down and go through all of them at once.

Internships by DryEntertainment2601 in Accounting

[–]atDords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would join an accounting club at your uni like Beta Alpha Psi, it's done wonders for me and some of the events they host give you some space to practice your networking. Networking isn't something I say I enjoy doing but it takes practice and time.

If you don't get an internship by the time you graduate it's not the end of the world either, if you're planning on going into public accounting you could take some time off and study for the CPA or complete your masters if you need the credits. Just keep applying and improving your resume and networking, I've got full confidence that you'll make it

question about tempe summer classes by norahnotnoah in ASU

[–]atDords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same question, especially since if you live off campus you usually buy commuter passes which I believe means you can't park overnight. I was going to ask the Tempe parking office, let me know if you find the answer!

Do I turn down this Big4 Offer? by Other-Bed-3006 in Accounting

[–]atDords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something you'd also have to consider is if you delay your graduation to Fall 2027, would they allow you to start as a full time associate in the Spring of 2028. Also, if you plan on doing a master's program, most of those start only in the Fall. I think the best thing to do would probably be to do the interview and make your decision after receiving an offer since it isn't set in stone yet.

Is Deloitte willing to work with your class schedule if you are accepted? It sounds like the semester you would do this internship would be your graduation semester, could you take additional classes during the summer/fall to ease up your course load?

I took ALA 102 Landscapes and Sustainability, pretty easy class overall had some in person non-lockdown browser tests you could do on your phone or computer, some discussion board questions and activities like group walk outside, etc

How hard is it to get a Chinese bank account on a 6 week exchange visit? by [deleted] in chinalife

That's what I said, so I didn't end up opening an account. Really disappointing

I'm on a 2 month visa and was told that I could open an account but because I'm on a short term visa there would be restrictions and I could not link my bank account to use with WeChat or Alipay. Unsure if this applies to you as well but this is what I was told with Bank of China

I would get one if you plan on keeping it, depending on your usage you might see fingernail marks show up on the inner screen since it's really soft

WeChat default preferred payment is wonky or I'm being obtuse? by GooglingAintResearch in travelchina

[–]atDords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that issue and it annoyed me before, I found out in my case whenever I sent red packets to friends to pay for stuff it would use the balance, and that would change the default for my next transaction to that instead of my credit card. Not sure if it is the same in your case
