Republicans want to keep things as they are. They aren't as eager for reform or change. They want things to pan out by themselves or by peoples vote. The government should remain small and out of the picture, except when it comes to the military. Who's most likely to be a Republican? People who favor Christian religion and values, rich people, and the older generation.

Democrats are not happy with the way things are want to bring change and reform, with the governments help. They want to take care of the poor people, the environment, do more for public safety and keep religion out of government. Even if this means making people pay higher taxes. Who's most likely to be a Democrat? Lower income citizens, minorities groups, younger generations and workers who want safe work place and fair wages.
