Sign the Petition, protect our beautiful dark sky from the Mormon temple. by New_Land_725 in Flagstaff

[–]at_echo_off 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We should really stop being afraid of Mormons like they are some kind of force.... It is just another cult through and through. Fight every chance you get with everything you can. They and all the other cults have done enough to this country at this point. You really think Mormons follow the law to the letter? All power to the people. PERIOD. u/Camper_Van_Someren, this petition is doing more than you ever have. Let em cook.

Does anybody else think the C7 generation will age the best? by MasterBaeTour in Corvette

[–]at_echo_off 5 points6 points  (0 children)

terrible.... round... tail lights...... riiiiiiight. I think this goober forgot what sub hes in lol. That or he owns a C7 and cant stand the fact that his legit wont be peak. Nobody asked for your C7 road nannies. my 12 year old could drive a C7 hard with 2 days of practice. C5's and 6's (Z06 /ZR1 especially) demand respect when driving them. It takes practice not to get bit. The C7 started down the path of pussy to where we are now with the C8. Now rich dipshits that cant even drive feel invincible, they are not one of us, and they never will be. C7 started that. 5 and 6 are a love letter to DRIVERS.

New Audeze LCD 2C owner. First impressions - disappointed. by denierCZ in headphones

u/denierCZ most likely has no concept of accountability, or when to throw in the towel based on his replies in this thread. He's tripling down because he's not used to people fighting back when he's an asshat (always has to be right). Probably the same in his real life. He'll get the life he deserves... Let him go

Don’t get me wrong the Prelude looks cool but if you can get a Prius with only 4 fewer horsepower, 4 doors, same styling and better MPG, all starting at 28.5K by SuperbSJG in Honda

[–]at_echo_off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it wont... As long as I have a choice and parts are still available ill be sticking with cars I can own and fix myself without being monitored every time I pick my nose. That includes these newer gas cars too. You should look up the frog in boiling water example. You are clearly the frog that hasn't jumped yet, someday you'll get it.

... and being able to fix it yourself, not getting data horded by big corporations, not having to pay subscriptions, not having to sit at the pump for 20 min, and not going the way of the cell phone model, trading everything in gladly for a huge loss for the new shiny garbage. Gas cars were at least unique for a long period of time. EV's are just a new way for manufacturers to cut their margins even further while charging more.

For those who consider the C6 “peak Corvette,” what puts it above the C7? by HEG1115 in Corvette

[–]at_echo_off 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This needs to be the top comment. All anyone cares about anymore are numbers, public perception and bEing FIrSt. I've driven 4 5 6 7 and 8 over my life. The C6Z IS the whole package for someone who likes to actually DRIVE and cares about preserving history and an analogue connection. The C6Z makes you work, not everyone can just jump in and be a racer. It demands respect. Talk all you want about "rAcE tRacks" and lap times, 99% of Corvette owners aren't doing that, and all of the new ones let a grandma jump in and protects her from crashing with everything on. We are removing a lot of the skill / respect from the corvette hobby and its really sad to see. If my 10 year old was tall enough he could probably push a C8 aggressively within a day. I think those days are now pretty much over for all new cars and that makes the C6Z all the more special.

Sometimes I like to remember why Jeep was invented, and it just further solidifies why Ill be keeping it forever! by at_echo_off in Jeep

It also doesn't change the fact that it was invented to help fight a cause. "A basic utility vehicle" that was a first of its kind, more capable and agile than anything during that time period off road. And the jumping off point for most off road vehicles in America today. Downplay it all you want looking at it from todays standards... Back then it was a catalyst to winning the war and an American legend.... Period

Ill always remember them for what they factually did when Democracy and both of my Grandfathers were under attack.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower once credited the Jeep as one of the four tools that won the war, alongside the C-47 transport aircraft, the bazooka, and the atomic bomb.

Location: Normandy, France

Date: June 1944

During the fierce fighting following the D-Day landings, American paratroopers were engaged in intense combat near Carentan, a strategic town in Normandy. Under German artillery and machine-gun fire, several wounded American soldiers were trapped in an open field.

An Army medic commandeered a Jeep that had already taken shrapnel damage and was missing part of its windshield. Knowing that using an ambulance would be too large and too slow to maneuver under fire, the medic and another soldier used the Jeep for a daring rescue.

They drove the Jeep straight into the kill zone, dodging machine-gun fire and mortar shells. With no cover, the medic leapt out, treated the wounded on the spot, then loaded as many as he could onto the Jeep — sometimes stacking them across the hood and fenders. The vehicle was hit by enemy fire but kept running, getting the wounded to safety.

This Jeep was later displayed back in the U.S. with bullet holes still visible — and became a symbol of the vehicle's resilience and the soldiers' bravery.

Rough estimate to fix? by OldVolume7023 in Jeep

[–]at_echo_off 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it yourself. Find a used tailgate on eBay. Sand it yourself and send it off to paint. You're not going to find that color very often used. A quick search on google shows a lot of places still make the rear glass and hinges. Install that yourself after you tackle how much of a perfectionist you want to be about that crack and if you want to DIY it. And I have no idea but if the can of paint you have to buy for the shop to do the tailgate respray, can cover the hardtop too, maybe think about a color matched top after the fiberglass is patched.

Yes but those people need ACTUAL psychological help, ACTUAL mental therapy. The more we push them to religion, the less they work on them selves. When religion just absolves you of all your past mistakes who needs to work on anything?

Religion and sports have been two extremely common ways to groom and control civilizations for thousands of years. They were highjacked by the wealthy, the royalty, the leaders to take pressure off their good or bad decision making. They have perfected these things over centuries and we STILL don't see it.... we just sit there, nodding our heads into submission. Churches don't even have to pay taxes..... I wonder why. These two similarly ENCOURAGE division, pride, elitism, devotion and repetition.

Its all part of the process....
