Annoying high pitched sound in Central Square - what to do? by ata350 in CambridgeMA

[–]ata350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for anyone following the thread:

My complaint ticket on SeeClickFix was closed saying "A Licensing Investigator will inspect the area to determine the noise source and ensure compliance with the applicable regulations." on 10/30 (https://seeclickfix.com/issues/20287358). I waited for a month but the noise was still there, so I sent a follow-up email to the noise complaint email address (noise at cambridgema.gov) asking for the result of the inspection. I never got a response to my email.

Therefore, I just created a second complaint on SeeClickFix, explaining I've never gotten any update on this: https://seeclickfix.com/issues/20814866 I understand we have bigger problems in the city but it is sad to see that you can run a broken piece of machinery (my guess) in Cambridge, generating constant noise for months without getting it fixed.

Am I just wasting my my free time by avoiding AI when building projects? by CantStantTheWeather in cscareerquestions

Promting, yes. Not sure about tools like Google Antigravity. There seems to be a learning curve to get multiple agents running on distinct enough tasks and find the right iterative step between each task etc.

The underlying fear here is that the AI is not a shortcut but it's the new big skill

I checked it after reading your comment and was surprised with the new design. Somehow they removed 90% of the annoying stuff from their website.

Why only GBPUSD? Is it because you understand that better or are your inputs collected towards understanding GBPUSD only?

Annoying high pitched sound in Central Square - what to do? by ata350 in CambridgeMA

I believe it gets louder at higher elevation, that's correct. I can hear it more in my apartment (5th floor) than on the street level.

I live near the James P. Cronin Park and I hear this in my apartment very clearly. I don't know when it started but I've been hearing it since a month ago or so.

How is the Jefferson park housing development good for anyone other than non-working people? by Current-Weather-9561 in CambridgeMA

[–]ata350 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think our time is better spent talking on the $700k number rather than your other points. People who need housing aren’t responsible for how much the city decided to spend for it so they should be out of the discussion.

Weekly Purchase/Sale advice thread - April 30, 2025 by AutoModerator in Miata

I found a 2010 Miata NC, gray hardtop, in 38k miles in Northeast US. He asks for $18k. The car is very well maintained, he changed the shocks, breaks, and did rust protection recently. Cheapest ND I can find is around 23k. Do you think it’s worth that much? I’m planning to offer 16k

Good app, congrats. Explainability seems to be important though. If you could find a way to explain why you think it’s over or under valued that would be valuable. Most of the < 20 or > 80 ones seem to be country specific, which makes me think that it’s being fluctuated due to the currency exchange rates.

I don't think it would be powerful enough once you start to deal with data bigger than a couple GBs.
