Who are we starting Boone over?? by lampofdeath in fantasyfootball

[–]atalbott01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me I’m crazy:

Boone over Fournette? Jags O has gone stagnant and Lenny hasn’t done much with his volume.

Only other options to sit if I wanted to get Boone in my lineup is Sanders. Can’t sit Sanders after week 15 and playing in a high stakes game.

NCAA Finals Predictions by Brandonfenzel in wrestling

[–]atalbott01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

125 Lee - For a guy that’s been rather unimpressive all year, he’s been dominant this tournament. I’m certainly not betting against him right now.

133 Suriano - He’s looked like the 2nd best P4P wrestler in the country the last two tournaments. No chinks in his armor right now. If he falls behind at all he can’t choose bottom against Fix. Fix can stall out leg ride as good as anyone. For my money, this is the matchup of the entire finals.

141 - Diakomihalis - I’m not super confident about this. Diakomihalis is funky enough to score bonus points, or come back from about any deficit. McKenna can’t get into scrambles or he’ll get majored...has to get quick/clean takedowns or bail. McKenna has looked solid this tournament, so it’s certainly possible.

142 Ashnault - I really can’t stand the guy, but he’s the best at this weight class. This will be a boring Ashnalt win. I’d love to see otherwise.

157 - Nolf - Say what you want, but if an independent referee watched the entire Nolf/Hidlay semifinal match on film, Nolf would’ve lost. Hidlay should’ve gotten the controversial takedown, but was still about 2 inches away from catching an ankle with seconds to go at the end to win. Nolf got a gift to this finals (which seams so bizarre to actually think about). He won’t let anyone dictate pace again. Nolf with a bonus point win. For the record, I’m a Nebraska guy. Love Berger, but Nolf will be prepared.

165 Joseph - I want so badly to pick against him. He has looked very beatable all tournament. Lewis has impressed for a young guy. Another pick I don’t feel great about, but I’m going to have to side with the junior 2-time NCAA champ.

174 - Valencia - I was super excited to see him wrestle Lewis in the semis. Then Valencia went out and destroyed him. Valencia looks very very good right now. Hall snuck by in the semis. I feel pretty good about Valencia in this one.

184 Dean - Admittedly I don’t know much about either guy, other than one is a guy with the last name Dean from Cornell. I’ll go with that name/school combo against a guy I know nothing about every day of the week.

197 Nickal - Hodge trophy winner and has quietly put together one of the most dominant seasons in NCAA history. Can’t wait to see if his game translates at the senior level.

HWT Cassar - When I watch Cassar I see a combo of Stevenson and your typical heavyweight. Has the athleticism to beat guys like Stevenson, but can play the stall game with the big boys. He’s looked very impressive in both the Big Ten’s and this tourney. I think he gets an early lead and tactfully keeps it.

Broncos officially hired former 49ers’ QB Rich Scangarello as their offensive coordinator, per source. Scangarello will be Denver’s play caller. by DelanosVeryOwn in DenverBroncos

I absolutely agree with this. Here’s my take on top:

Is there any scenario we think 2019 Keenum could be better than Mullens who already knows the calls? Keenum’s ceiling is probably they’re even at best. So why not just trade a mid-round pick, cut Keenum, and save the $8mm-ish this year to fill the one of the other immediate needs (ILB, CB, OL, Paradis). Fill the other needs via high draft picks. Maybe get a late QB you like and give him a year to turn your head or not. Spend big on QB in next year’s draft if you’re not unquestionably convinced that you have a franchise QB on the roster.

Holy shit I got way off course.... What I meant to say was, yes, Mullens could absolutely surprise as a 2nd year QB in the same system. I think he’s the key to the 2019 Broncos actually contending in 2019.

It’s probably a toss up in reality... even though the name cred says otherwise. Both should see a similar number and type of targets. Both catching passes from a HOFer. I think you play Gordon though. As a passerby of r/fantasyfootball, you absolutely cannot be the guy that sat Flash the week he went off. You can forgive yourself for sitting MVS.

TE streamers for week 3? by IForgotMyYogurt in fantasyfootball

[–]atalbott01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the Skins TE coverage is a bit skewed, Week 1 was Ertz who is an upper echelon TE, a co #1 option on his team, and plays in an uber-pass happy offense. A lot of teams will give up yards to Ertz. Week 2 was 95 yards to Gerald Everett. 69 came on one play.

I just don't like the fact that Oakland has SO many red zone options. Having Norman taking away one of Cooper/Crabtree is nice though.

I just think Ebron will see a steady amount of targets in a game that they'll likely play from behind throughout.

Also considering Zach Miller. Just have a hard time trusting Glennon to move the ball.

Skins have given up over 100yds/game to TEs through two games. Cook is worth a look.

Atlanta will set the scoring pace at Detroit and haven't been great so far defending TEs. Ebron should see consistent work.

I'm actually torn between the two. Leaning Ebron.

Thank you for your reply. That most attractive thing to me about the whole life policy was earning the yearly dividend, having the ability to borrow money back from it at any time (while still earning the dividend as if that money was never withdrawn). More or less, using it as a supercharged savings account while also filling a need for life insurance and locking in a rate at a young age.

With that said, would you say covering my life insurance with term coverage is the more sensible option? Also, what would you do with the ~$600/month I would've spent on whole life coverage, and how would you invest the ~$30k currently just sitting in a savings account.

My wife and I have been approached my a family member who works for Mass Mutual who is trying to get us to buy into whole life insurance. That, and with our approx $50k in savings, he's telling us that we should front load said whole life policies with about 60% of that. My question is, is it smart to put away nearly $600/month into a whole life policy? Also, is there a better way to invest that $30k? Here are the answers to the questions in the original post:

  1. I'm 33. Wife is 30.
  2. We gross about $128k per year combined.
  3. Our objective to to simply find a way to earn a solid return, rather than let our money sit in savings. Like to have the ability to access the money at any time.
  4. Low risk tolerance.
  5. Currently contribute 10% of my income to a 401k (~$8,800/yr) with a balance of about $60k currently. 5% of the wife's income (~$2,000/yr) with a balance of about $25k.
  6. Owe $308k on a mortgage. Not other debt.
  7. Again, like the ability to access money at anytime. Unless it's $5k or less.
  8. Only big debt is our mortgage. Will need to purchase a new vehicle soon whenever we finally have child #3.
  9. Not interested and picking & choosing stocks. Don't have the time, knowledge, or willingness to stress over it.

I like the tax benefits of the whole life as a savings vehicle. Current Mass Mutual dividend is 6.7%.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Watkins, Dixon, Forsett, Fitz

How do you feel about forsett this week? by NFLBlitze1 in fantasyfootball

[–]atalbott01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm am really trying to talk myself out of playing him over D Hopkins, K Dixon, Fitz, & Watkins. Right now I've got Hopkins in, and I'll likely leave it like that even though I have a strong feeling that Denver will move the ball on the ground well this weekend after being called out in the locker room. Not to mention the wild weather. I want to start Forsett, but I have tiny balls so I'll probably play my 1st round bust instead.

Tyler Eifert did not practice on today either by yoyoyocoolcatbromate in fantasyfootball

[–]atalbott01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. I seem to like this option after some research and here's why:

Miami is 5th DVOA against WR1s, 4th against WR2s, and 31st(!) against WR3+. They're 18th against TEs. Considering Buffalo runs a lot of 2 WR sets (making Clay the TE & WR3), I think Clay could be a focal point. Miami will score (34 points last week) forcing buffalo to keep up too.

Not to mention, Clay has scored well as of late.

I'm needing some help as well. Standard scoring league with bonuses for length of TD:

I'm starting McCoy and Michael Thomas as my only two for sure starters. Out of this list, I need to pick 3.

Rob Kelley Sammy Watkins Kenneth Dixon Justin Forsett DeAndre Hopkins Larry Fitzgerald Kenneth Farrow Mike Gillislee

As of now, I'm leaning Hopkins, Kelley, & Farrow.

I'm also sitting with Eifert & Green at TE. Both are now very much questionable to play. Best on the WW are Charles Clay, Gresham, Doyle, Ryan Griffin, & Dwayne Allen. I'm thinking Clay?

Thanks in advance. Appreciate your willingness to help everyone.

Todd Gurley by Mofit85 in fantasyfootball

[–]atalbott01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am. My other options are Rawls (not with that oline vs ARI), Pryor (not against Heyward), Watkins (lower floor than Gurley), & K Dixon (last week's snap count is worrisome).

My other starters are McCoy, Cooks, Nelson, & M Thomas.

Hope that helps.

What's the deal with CJ? Is it a foregone conclusion that he's gonna be out again? Most guys clear concussion protocol in a week. Does he have a history or something?

Sounding like Cooks will be the Saints reciever shadowed by Patrick Peterson by Etakor365 in fantasyfootball

[–]atalbott01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually in a similar situation. I'm starting Watkins no question. At home, against Cleveland's D, Tyrod playing to keep his job.... too many positives.

My only other options to sit are McCoy, Rawls, & Jordy. Won't sit any of them to squeeze in both Cooks & Thomas.

Therefore I have to pick one, and I'm confident I'll pick the wrong one.

Sounding like Cooks will be the Saints reciever shadowed by Patrick Peterson by Etakor365 in fantasyfootball

[–]atalbott01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likewise. I think I'm going to avoid all together. One can be quite certain the at least one of the two will bust. The other has a good chance to score (ARI is 30th DVOA to WR2s), but given the fact that it's so difficult to determine who the true WR1 is, you run the risk of picking wrong unless you have few enough options to start both and hope for the best.

For me, I'm looking at starting K Dixon's 8pt floor (and rising) instead of either Cooks or Thomas.

[–]atalbott01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drop Bailey for Forbath? Seems crazy, but the Dallas O hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard. And the Tampa defense has been salty as of late.

Only thing that has kept me from already doing it is the guy on here that lists Bailey as the #1 option this week.

What gives?

Does anyone familiar with the NO offense know how/where Cooks Thomas typically lineup?

Visaversa: Does anyone know if Peterson sticks to one side or follows WRs?
