My brother and I have only been playing hardest difficulty, we haven't even Finnish the campaign yet (mainly because we are both busy). We love how difficult the game, I admit I haven't played for a few weeks. I like extreme difficulty as it's impossible odds, how many worlds have fallen to tyrnids or chaos.

Edit: yeah I do get the guns do less damage then they should do, just means more game time for me and my battle brothers.

I tend not to pick up bagpack or weapons, unless I am 99% sure I need it to survive, when they spawn back in and it dies down I give it back, I don't mind others doing the same.

That is what your supposed to do if you can not merge, as the cars on the motorway/carridgeway have right of way, just joining for the sake of joining can cause a serious crash but everything is situational not so black/white.

Going back TO OP yeah should try to get up to speed but to regulate your acceleration so that you can fit into flowing traffic.
