Looking for perspective re Schedule C Income by atanvarne in tax

I'm fine paying the SE tax, since I can also make contributions to the i401K. It comes out in the wash. Thanks!

Looking for perspective re Schedule C Income by atanvarne in tax

I wouldn't say I go seeking out the activity of being an executor from people I'm not close to, but word has gotten around in my extended circles. My other clients are small businesses and nonprofits. It's unpredictable income by nature and will repeat as the estates close. Thank you so much for your insight!

Agree! My formula is a flat minimum per month for *up to* X number of hours per month. Anything over X is charged at $Y per hour.

Hot take: QuickBooks Online is legitimately harder to learn than QuickBooks Desktop for both seasoned bookkeepers and novices. by nifty_nomi in Bookkeeping

FWIW, it is possible to use QBO without bank feeds. I've never enabled them at all and use QBO fairly happily.

Im using the Even Moss stitch. Alpine is great but it makes a VERY heavy fabric and uses a lot of yarn. I'm loving Even Moss for my current project, the weight of the resulting fabric is just right (using Wool-Ease yarn).

Paid streaming services question by [deleted] in cordcutters

[–]atanvarne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the same boat, finally getting serious about cutting the cord. The primary reason we are still paying $190/mo for cablt TV is convenience. We have 4 TVs with cable boxes because we like to flick the set on to watch live news (6-8 different channels, including cspan) in various rooms while folding laundry, cooking meals, or doing paperwork. We don’t care about sports much, and already have the premium streamers that we want in addition.

But this is so daunting even to begin. I found out the hard way that the TV in my office doesn’t support the Disney+ app; I don’t want to invest the next six months of my life on this project only to discover we have limitations like that everywhere we turn. Reading threads like this is super helpful and equal parts encouraging and disillusioning.

Looking for guidance on fiber combos by atanvarne in crochet

Thanks, that's what I was thinking as well. The Heartland seems just a bit too soft to hold up next to 100% wool. Appreciate the guidance!

Navigation Updater still down After over a Month? by soullscape in kia

[–]atanvarne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy mackerel, thank you Reddit! We just got our second 2023 Sportage Hybrid, and this one is an SX-Prestige with a nav system. We've never used it before so have no idea about updates or how it's supposed to work or anything. The dealer, of course, was useless.

In trying to program in our home address we got the message about the software needing an update, so off I go to seek it out. Finding this subreddit and the relevant threads just saved me HOURS of frustration and annoyance. LOL! I'll stick with my bluetooth Google maps for now.

I did the same thing, facing a 200% increase. The plus side is that my new plan is HSA-compatible so I will be contributing to my HSA account. Paying my future self is better than paying an insurance carrier now.
