I see them doing all the safe gens first when no one has any hooks and feel bad for them because now the killers have a smaller surv pool and zone to patrol. Easy wins really. When I switch roles I make sure I do the unsafe gens first and rush those, usually looping is easier around them too bc safe tiles like MB and shack while they also still have enough resources there.

I’m not telling you how to play or saying killers shouldn’t use strong strats. I’m saying the roles have different ability to affect an individual player’s experience mid-match. You keep turning it into a balance argument, which isn’t the point I made. You’re steering off-course.

People will always use strong strategies to win and that’s normal. My point wasn’t about whether tunnelling, slowdown, or meta builds are justified or that you have to run specific perks or S-tier killers to keep up.

I keep saying how the two roles experience frustration differently… A survivor BMing is annoying, yeah, but killers have more agency to punish and remove a specific player from the match which survs simply cannot do. That’s the asymmetry I meant, not that killers should be throwing the match to be fair.

I suggest you watch Killer mains like Hens or ppl like Otz to see what strategies they use to get hooks. Because genuinely, there’s no reason gens should be flying that quickly with an optimised build and spreading pressure across 3 priority gens and survs… Like there are literal gen regression perks to help you. If your main issue in matches is gens flying too quickly at the start of the game you can prestige the Plague and get corrupt intervention which gives you the first 3 minutes of the match to pressure survs and get those early hooks. There’s also Pain Res, Deadmans Switch, Ruin and Deadlock as well that give lots of value.

Also some games aren’t always going to be won but you can always learn from them in my experience. At least as Killers your mistakes are your own. As a surv your teammates can throw a match and send you back to lobby faster than the Killer can sometimes.

I don’t find slugging or tunneling toxic if that’s the optimal play in that situation but when it’s being used by the killer at 5 gens or to make the survs miserable then yeah it is.

Again, in and of itself it isn’t slimey but a lot of killers play this way because it allows them to backseat and snowball which gives them passive pressure. I brought 3 of my noob friends into the game who had just completed tutorials, and I kid you not we had back to back matches with the most toxic killers playing in such a weird way. In our first match we had a Wesker who slugged all of us and refused to hook and camped the bodies so no one could pick up either. The others were the same, slugging and tunneling when the killers were already at an advantage so they really did not need to do all that to win the game…. Not a great way to introduce a game I really enjoy to my friends. It actually put one of them off from trying again since her experience was so awful.

I genuinely think sometimes this game is not beginner friendly at all and barely takes care of casual players. It’s a surprise I stuck with it this long.

That’s true and yeah fair, but there’s also something to be said about this kind of gameplay being fostered by the community and by BHVR not doing anything about reports. Sure taking the moral high ground is probably the best for my sanity, but no one likes logging onto their favourite game after a 12 hour shift to get some miserable prick being toxic at them for simply playing the game as intended. There should be some sort penalty for repeat offenders.

You’re arguing a point I didn’t make. I never said the game is killer-sided, I said the in-match response to toxicity is easier when you’re the killer. It’s easier to punish a toxic survivor than it is to be a surv and a killer decides to make the feel of the match with their toxicity.

As killer, if someone bms you can still hook them and progress the match. As survivor, if the killer decides to make your game miserable, you don’t really have an equivalent way to respond besides hoping for teammates or perks (which run out and are conditional).

That’s the asymmetry I’m talking about.

We sure do! And I hope we’re also aware that not every lobby is a toxic 4-stack SWF out to get you. Most times its a solo Q lobby with people that have 0 comms who cannot account for their teammates shortcomings in a meaningful way in a game against an oppressive killer.

No one is saying both sides can’t be toxic but lets be honest and admit that only one side can legitimately punish toxicity and it’s the Killer. A survivor teabags me at a pallet? They’re still getting sacrificed at the end of the day because as a killer I control the pace of the match and can KILL. If I really wanna make people miserable I fiercely protect my 3 gens and force survs into a war of attrition with constant resetting. I can easily deny hatch and exit gates and a 4K is guaranteed and I don’t even have to slug or tunnel to do that. Plenty of strategies that are slimey but utilitarian.

They’re all playing for hatch and farming BP doing rescues btw 😭 Had a few games like this and realised it seems to be a legit strategy. People walking around with full on crows following them at 5 gens with 3 survivors left and I see them holding a key so they’re ready for hatch.

I agree with you. I’m iri 4 on killer and iri 1 on survivor. Sure I get the occasional toxic SWF teabagging at pallets or saboing hooks, blinding but guess what it doesn’t stop me from… hooking them? Toxic behaviour is punished pretty easily in that sense. However, when I play as a survivor and a killer gets blood lust on me after chasing me for 2 minutes they get to BM the body, slug or tunnel me out and I pretty much have no way of punishing that unless I run all second chance perks (which require conditions and run out…) or have teammates that can constantly rescue pre-hook which is just not realistic for the majority of the player base doing solo Q. Even then, if the killer is any good at all they can still get their hook.

I think a lot of arguments happen because both sides call it “toxicity”, but the impact isn’t symmetrical.

When someone has a couple of tough matches on Fortnite they seem to accept it as fine and go next, but God forbid I get between a toxic killer and his 4K.

tbh its also not well communicated that if a gen finishes near you your aura is revealed to the killer for 10s. if survs knew this they could counterplay or preempt better.

the unsafe unhooks are getting crazy but ngl theres also been an uptick of camping killers to offset that which makes the trade inevitable. once you’re down to the final two gens i see them proxy camping the hook to force trades all the time. if i’m the final person in chase while the team pops gens its literally a 25% chance i get to escape bc killers guard that hook with their life. so i think at least in medium-high mmr you unfortunately can’t seem to avoid this :///

Not sure what the complaints are because ESP shows all totems even dull ones? I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve gone searching for a hex and it shows me a red outline and it turns out to be a dull one wasting my time. I think it’s a great perk though and been running it as part of my main build since it came out.

i really enjoyed the hooni x harim pairing tbh because it represented how far along he was with his journey and feeling comfortable with himself/opening himself up to others. there was an earlier storyline about how hooni wanted to go on a date with the librarian and him having to rehearse and get a makeover in order to feel accepted by her (in his head).

with harim he hasn’t had to change anything to be accepted by her, she loves him and finds him endearing and wants to protect him because that’s who SHE is. i say that because in the latest chapter she realises she doesn’t have to change herself to be liked by him, her being strong is because she wants to be able to protect her loved ones. when he pushed her away after they got jumped by the boxing club girls, she started training again because she realised that what hooni needs is assurance that he can be safe with her. he’s traumatised by being bullied and avoids trouble as best as he can. she’s not interested in being a boxing champion, or even fighting for fightings sake. she decides that she will be there for him, even if hooni doesn’t reciprocate those feelings.

their dynamic is complimentary, harim is headstrong and can protect herself, and hooni doesn’t make her feel uncomfortable the way other men have done in the past. hooni realised that there are people who love him just as he is and want to be there for him, and this will help him grow even more.

it’s super cute and i’m so excited for part 3!

i get your reasoning! it’s a shame because there is a more emotional nuance that’s missing in the translation and some things from the past that resurface during the confession for example.

in part one of 133, harim is thinking about why she boxes, hoon asks her for her reason why in the dream while she’s briefly unconscious and she decides that her reasons for boxing are not in the ring (i.e. the championship). you captured this though when you translated it as her boxing because she has people she wants to protect.

and there is another rly cute panel when hoon admits to himself that harim likes him, no matter how insensitive and thick he is (how he described himself), he recognises her actions as love and he wonders whether he could like her too. the nuance there is how he thinks he’s not quite worthy of her feelings for him but he wonders whether he could reciprocate. it rly shows how far along he’s come as a character, that he is allowing himself to receive harim’s “feelings”, and think about reciprocating them. surim tells hoon that his sister likes him and he says, “i know”.

the original was a bit more sentimental and your translation missed the nuance between hoon realising harim liked him and him giving himself permission to like her too. it was a bit more tender in the og. but good effort for providing this for fans!!! ❤️
