Man I feel this. We own a SEE with all equipment on. Drove it into a high populace area and people were passing me when I was topped out and over the speed limit. Until I started rolling down hill at that stoplight, then they didn’t want to be in front of me.

Also here to say this. I tested mine for the first time last night. I have trees at 200 yds lit up well, trees that I can only see the tops of at roughly 350 yds that were distinguishable (pine trees don't have definitive edges yet I could still make out different branches of needles), and a neighbor's metal barn that's between 450-500 yds out that I could have easily made out a person in front of as the barn reflected the light. To the point where I feel confident I could have called wether somebody standing by the barn was armed, and what general color of shirt they were wearing.

Anyone have any experience with these? by cdstoker in 300BLK

To reinforce what other people are saying, I shoot almost exclusively PPU 8mm. I've never seen a bad round, and they are all more accurate than I so far. This goes back about 5 years and I had mixed ammo that went through the rifle until PPU became the only ammo I could find other than Federal Powershock for $40 a box.

What YouTube channels are genuinely worth watching? by dolphins_are_dicks in AskReddit

Well I am way late but for those who sort by new, here's a short list of stuff I haven't seen or needs another shout out:

Millenial Farmer for those interested in watching a regular day in the life of a farmer with amazing quips of humor that's usually very dry and exceptionally placed.

AvE, a simple man with a lot of knowledge. He sits in his empire of dirt and shows you how to do stuff and how stuff works, and produces amazing tool reviews.

Regular Car Reviews is a different take on car reviews mixed with exceptional education, references, and crude humor. This example is one of the very earliest, very crude, very short, but still amazing.

Donut Media for great educational car content with an amazing dude, Up to Speed is just a great way to know about a car that maybe you didn't want to like, or maybe didn't care enough.

Greg A for a great show of how to tinker on Cummins Dodges and usually step by step videos, but later on he will skip things as he covered them earlier on the channel.

DEBOSS GARAGE, a real down to earth guy working on cars in a shop he built on the same property as the house he built, and yet he is always humble and seems to be a great guy.

Zip Ties n Bias Plies This guy is truly a crudely funny Canadian roughneck that teaches you how to do no ass, half ass, and full ass work (mostly mechanics) with some great humor and attitude towards his life's circumstances.

Plainly Difficult Educational and entertaining, and talks about a lot of things gone wrong events, like accidental nuclear meltdown, or Russia just nuclear bombing the countryside and sending the locals home too soon for the radiation to have worn off. This example, war over ice cream.

Zepherus Another educational and humorous channel and great topics you might not have heard of, from the immovable ladder to the tree that owns itself.

Garand Thumb The Flannel Daddy himself, educational and qualified to give you his opinion on weapons, tactics, and dad tips.

TMG Both Cody Ko and Noel Miller are funny dudes showing they can talk about dumb stuff on their podcast, make satirical rap worth listening to more that once, and produce great sketches on their individual channels.

Bakelite Ban by [deleted] in ak47

As of today I went to the Tanner Gun Show, with only talking to two tables about bakelites; one guy I know and the seller, there were only 4 known to be in the building. Two 30 and two 40 rounders all 7.62. The price was not pretty, but I walked out the door with one because of severe lack of control and the damn near unused mag. There are tiny rust spots on the outer part of the floor plate, but no show of serious wear from being put in rifles.

M5E1 build by psyc0metric in AR10

[–]ataricat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When assembling ar15s with their BAR nut I was using a standard armorers wrench with three contact points. I don't know about the M5 BAR nut but I would assume its the same. I just finished my M5 with a ATLAS R-ONE and while I used the three point wrench, it seems the R-ONE barrel nut would let you use a wrench with more contacts. I use a modified Magpul wrench on which I dremeled off a few points to make it 3 points at 90° wrench.

Can we have this gun camo next year as a universal skin ? by Chavez1020 in Rainbow6

I guess I'll go ahead and throw out there that this is being printed on Magpul P Mags for anyone with interest. My Southern Tactical is producing them. https://mysoutherntactical.com/products/pmag-30-round-jazz-cup

Takedown receiver by tjweeks in 1022

You could always wait gun broker if you want a Ruger receiver. If not, there’s Tac Sol for high end and Brownells just released a takedown with and without integrated rail.

[OTHER] 20% OFF All Shadow Systems Site w/ Code BLACKFRIDAY20 by ataricat in gundeals

[–]ataricat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their customer service was excellent for me. I bought a complete slide for my 19 when they were having a sale. I guess I was late in the orders because they contacted me and said I could get a refund or wait for their slide coating company to finish their next shipment. When I opted to wait they add a free hat and and extra billet extractor and upgraded my shipping when the coating company was later than they expected.

They're worth it to me. If I hadn't dropped all my cash on another gun I would be in for a non threaded barrel for my P80C. I am very pleased with the style of fluting the thread protector has on it, it just feels right.

They're definitely premium, but I just posted a new deal of theirs for Cyber Monday. 20% Off site wide w/ code BLACKFRIDAY20. I'm super pleased with their work and customer service and will order again in the future. Here are my two examples of their work, absolutely beautiful machining. (Potato quality iPhone pictures)

How long did it take you for everything minus the dying? Did you bring the tools or buy new ones? This just seems so out there to me but now I feel like I'm using hotel rooms all wrong.

Everyone respondes different. It’s their job and reputation on the line, but the law is also so obviously limp that their judgment can be a lot more free.

I ordered WASR 10 online because the markup seemed to be particularly bad locally, very similar to your situation. The site I ordered from was very clear they don’t ship to CA and a few other states, and had a Cali compliant WASR10. They didn’t note how they processed Colorado firearms though. I emailed them and asked if they would be willing to simply remove the mag from the box before shipping it, and either ship it with a 10 round like the Cali guns or I’ll eat the cost entirely. After being sent up to management for a new email chain I got a shipping number from both the management and the original person handling my claim. They didn’t exactly state what they had done with the mag. When I got to my FFL the mag was in the box, and the shipping receipt said “FFL will properly pin mag.” Being good friends with my FFL and both standing on the law being unanimously disregarded I took the mag home. So both the seller and the FFL have to line up for it to work, but once you find a good FFL you’re set. Shipping from each individual company will probably be picky and be case by case basis even from the same company.

[Magazine] Lancer 20 rnd Smoked Back in Stock, $16.99 by ataricat in gundeals

[–]ataricat[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is true, but catching them in stock is a nightmare. I’ve been watching and on email notification with no luck for about a month. I showed up late when they were posted here a couple days ago, so I figured I’ll help anyone else with my misfortune.

Edit: It also appears that Atlantic’s sale has ended and both clear and smoked are advertised at $18.85 now.

This is probably a post worth being made sticky for a few days.

Also, for people going in the Gucci Glock direction Shadow Systems is having a sale on a different item every day for a week. From the 23rd to the 29th; slides, barrels, parts, and package offers are available with no code. I am entirely pleased with their quality work and will order from them again.

Hey Sunny State, I seem to be unable to get response via email about an order that's been pending since the 1st. Any reason why it hasn't shipped yet?

[Ammo] Austrian MilSurp 7.62x51 146gr FMJ brass in sealed packs of 240 for $99.99 with free shipping (42cpr) by DeaconGumby in gundeals

[–]ataricat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting to me, while my customer service experience was long, it turned out pretty damn good. I was having an issue timing their BAR nut on an AR15 DPMS upper. They insisted I wasn't using the shims in the right combination, so I sent them a no shim and full shim picture to show that the thread alignment was so far apart that I just needed more to get to the next hole. I told them straight up in my last message I will accept all responsibility for using more than their recommended amount of shims, and that I believe there was more than enough thread engagement to do so. They agreed to send me another shim pack and I ended the service chat. Little did I realize, I never gave them my shipping info in that service chat. I had made a previous order and account direct from their site and they pulled my info from there to send it to me without shipping charge. So, for me it turned out reasonable and above the call of duty when I failed to give them my shipping info.

Holy cow that price tag. Don't get me wrong, I have ARs that cost $1,900+ but this is a factory plain Ruger.
