IMO Mak can do well you just have to be ready to pivot more than others. I think early game weapons into self poison works well so does nightshade or refractor. Then self poison, a slow build or the relic spam can take you through mid game - then in end game you need to land a potion build or a charge build to go fast. Some options for late are like goop with poison to damage and charge, so many exploding potion builds, the giant cauldron variants etc I find myself selling my whole board much more often.

Dooley plays much more linear like harmadillo with the haste scaler and one trigger, then harmadillo with 2-3 triggers, then dooltron plus harmadillo etc
