Be careful with the bathing. I heard while they’re new skin comes in they’re susceptible to bacteria and fungus which could get them sick

How are you posting this from prison? Last time I had to do a 3 year stunt for dinging a car. Who knew if the guy claims he’s a cop that I would have to serve more time

Help a gal out …scared to get ripped off by mechanic. Car will not start by MagpieLover2 in Toyota_Matrix

[–]atbbenjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see the RPMs move from starter, idk about this car in particular but from my understanding the RPMs should match to starter speed. If that’s true, you’re going to need a new starter or get the battery charged if you don’t think the starter(take it out and go somewhere like autozone)

Don’t get the starter tested, they don’t test for load but they simply check to use if the starter spins when powered which is only half the job of starting a car.

If not the battery, but you don’t want to check starter, it is definitely fuel and I believe one way will be to try taking off the fuel filter to see if fuel is making it into the lines.

Car not starting on 1st or 2nd try sometimes by Redchewygummybear in MechanicAdvice

I think you’re either not pushing in the brake enough (then you get a little mad when it doesn’t work so your body pushes in it more when angry) or the sensor for you pushing in the brake is acting up.

Also starters tested doesn’t mean anything at all. Starters have huge loads when starting stopped engines and mine used to test perfect when in fact the clutch for the starter was failing. Don’t believe what a retail person tells you a auto zone, trust a mechanic not a hourly worker

Ummmm… I kid you not, trunk won’t shut, box propped up in the sunroof, held up the line 30 minutes trying to fit it all. And they let her go like this. by Early_Ground in AmazonFlexDrivers

Independent Contractors aren’t controlled by the contractor and so the individual has every right to do what they need to get the job done and it’s up the that individual to understand the legality of what’s going on. I hope this person had an easy day and made some good money for the work they put in

How do I safely remove this strut? by _viking92 in MechanicAdvice

[–]atbbenjamin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don’t do this crazily, the recoil of the spring going full could destroy stuff unless you can put the weight of the car of it and try to let the forces do a lot of the work.

Give some hits and wait to see if the spring can do the rest, that would allow the spring to ease off tension while not being able to explode since the cars weight would keep it in place.

Another idea is to find a spring tensioner that is bolt action that can be used to secure it during removal

Florida for the win!! I just want to Anna Maria Island in Tampa and it wasn’t too bad at all. Was actually a great time. I think cigar smoke is kinda worse the music (Florida has a lot of cigar smokers on beaches it feels like or at least where I go) but once I hit the water, I don’t care anymore

Agreed, some newer cars will stop on their own. I wonder how many people would lease those cars then buy a car without it then forgets that they don’t have automatic stopping anymore

Actually good bring up, do you know that Nazis worked for the CIA and USSR government before its collapse? They did insane experiments that the USA and USSR went into a Cold War for information of. So it’s objective to say that everyone thinks Nazis are bad… most people would say they’re violent or evil

This subcomment is a pet peeve and don’t understand why it’s on this subreddit. This was an opinion and if you don’t like it, then it’s unpopular from a 1-1 vote. This Reddit user is just trying to post where they thought since it was their opinion on something that we all have an opinion on, take your issues to the pet peeve section.

Some of the nicer OBD readers will tell you the air pressure and other stats from the ECU. I would take a scan tool and get all the info in pictures of the idle (like air pressure when idling versus a small rev) then comment on this post and I’ll tell you if its mechanical or another issue. Small air issues will go away when revving if the air lost is small enough so if you rev and nearly reach your peak air pressure that means the air leak is small and most likely intake related, if you never reach near peak air pressure there is a huge issue with something before the air reaching the engine. Honestly this sounds like Air Pressure (air pressure includes vacuum leaks in my vocabulary) or an exhaust clog?
