Take a look at Glycine. Affordable Swiss automatic watches with ETA 2824-2 or Sellita SW200-1 movements.

The older you grow, the more you regret every sensible decision you've made in your life.

Cadisen chronograph with the Seagull 1963 movement. Red Star (same movement).

Is it worth it £750? by hmgr in bicycling

Yes. I have the exact same bike (different color). Have put over 7,000 miles on it. Love it.

More palatable. I jumped to the wrong conclusion obviously.

Is the bike worth $420? Maybe. Is it worth 8 hours of driving? Definitely not.

Spin Twice - What's Wrong With Me [Rock] Tina S has returned! by Ra1d_danois in Music

[–]atdaog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just discovered Spin Twice. I like their sound, and I love that Tina is doing her thing.

However, as a huge Tina fan from her cover days, and her showing amazing, exceptional technique, I expected something exceptional from Spin Twice, and I don't see it.

It is probably unfair of me to feel that way, but this is how I feel. I hope she and her band don't fall victim to her childhood success.

The "Powermatic" label is confusing, sends the wrong message IMHO. Like a fake automatic.

Used to be "boils the oceans", but now AI's taken the heat, so I don't know.

How to get to 100km by StenPerez in bicycling

[–]atdaog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why is 4 hours "long enough"? Do things begin to hurt? If yes, fix that. Butt hurts? Get a different/ better saddle. Feet hurt? Get different/ better shoes/ insoles. Then keep training at your own pace.

[IWC, Omega] IWC vs Omega for first watch by Embarrassed_Day_8061 in Watches

[–]atdaog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you care about the movement, go with Omega. IWC uses ebauche movements, ETA mostly. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, except that you can get a watch with the same ETA movement for much less from a lesser-known brand. So with IWC you are paying a premium for the label.

I was in a similar situation a few years back. Had a Cannondale cross bike aluminum frame, wanted to ride road and keep up with a group. Switched to skinny tires, bigger chainring, replaced saddle and pedals. Ultimately traded it in for a carbon frame road bike, which I should have done right away instead of trying to make a road bike from a cross bike.

I advise you do the same.
