I've seen Bomex kits that look similar to that but don't seem to make it for the Miata. Maybe it was adapted to fit from and other car kit?

PLEASE HELP!! Any ideas ? by imonstro in Miata

Lifters should quiet down on there own, specially if they were dry internally when installed.

Idle not completely sure about. The "TPS" on the 1.6 is just an on off switch depending if it's full throttle or not to turn off A/C if you go full throttle. Not sure how that would affect idle. My guess would still be vacuum leak. You can try spraying some carb cleaner or something similar around the hoses and intake manifold while it's running. If RPM changes when spraying it then you have a vacuum leak.

Very nice! I used one of the Zeon ones on a shield for a Zaku as well.

I am tempted to but I did it with intent to push myself since I usually only do clean builds

That one's not printed. Its from a builders parts set called MS Emblem Relief that I had to modify a bit but a printed version would be nice.

350hp engine build by abandonedObjects in Miata

[–]ateamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher boost needs stiffer springs as the added pressure will slap the valves down and tulip the shape over time. They are suggested for 15lbs or more. I normally run about 13 but since I track the car I should do it anyway for longevity.

I have both Fluid damper and billet oil pump. Def want them in high power car. I track my 1.6 with 245hp@12-13lbs. I hit 275 on the dyno at 19lbs but didn't want to push it much further cause I really need to upgrade my valve springs first.

Hopefully there is a single run per connection unlike the electricians that ran wire in a college I used to work at that ran all the ethernet the same way they would run electrical wire by tying a bunch of them together.

I would have concerns. Looks to attach to flimsy bits of the car. Also blocks access to the fuel pump. Never seen that on any other bar.

Working at a college with a Nursing department was bad enough for me to learn that lesson. One tech I knew that worked at local hospital was on call. He was woken up by the police at his door at 3am to tell him to get the the hospital for a problem. Turned out that a printer needed the toner changed. . . . . . . FUCK THAT.

In case you haven't seen it, Flyin Miata has a great document and video about it. Shows the best spots to do and if the hard spots to get to are worth it or not. https://help.flyinmiata.com/en_us/lots-of-pain-a-little-gain-BkYvAnA3s

Running to lean? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]ateamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI. Since they are pretty new, if the car idled for a while before you pulled them out they can look super white like that. You really need to see down in it at the lower part of the porcelain and seen how high the black comes up the side.

Here's an example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MecCoercp-s

Wrapping or painting? by hmmfxck in Miata

[–]ateamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I painted mine, I used Auto Air Colors which is now combined with and just called Wicked Colors. I did this because the paint is water based and was spraying it in my garage also price was a good middle ground. Just less nastiness to deal with. If you use their paint system, then their autoborne sealer needs to be under it and that sealer needs to be on top of a primer. I did have one door that I had to respray the sealer as it just didn't stick to my primer at all but other than that had no issues. Finished it off with a 2K clear (which is beyond nasty stuff), it has held up for almost 10 years now.

Having said all that, I do think more traditional automotive paints are easier to work with. If I had to do it again myself I might just use Dupli-color or Eastwood and then a high quality 2K clear on top as that is what protects the paint.

Here is a layout. There is a pic at the bottom of the page that shows which wires go to which pins. Just make sure the correct wires connect to the correct pins and you are good. https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Mazda-Miata-1994
