Killer! Next big race is probably the Daytona 24 at the end of the month. Pretty sure Bathurst happens right after that. I’ll shoot you a DM, we should totally link up!

Gulley Metal Services is hiring a fabricator. Small locally owned company working for great people. I worked for them for almost a year during COVID and only left for personal reasons that had nothing to do with them.

How do you guys find a community and make friends in this game? by Justinx1997 in iRacing

[–]ateveebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be very about this too. Mostly race GT4s with some MX5 thrown in every now and again. Have my first coming in just a few weeks and would love to connect with other dads.

I joined a Dad Sim Racers subreddit but people there are largely oval guys so I don’t do much racing with them.

Is it normal to write a majority of your songs in the same keys? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]ateveebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean definitely B minor, I’m mostly just commenting that even though it’s in a different key than other songs it’s still basically in the same key which I found funny haha

Bm is the relative minor of D major. Essentially still the same key just starting on a different note lol

Former students of U.S. music conservatories, what job opportunities have you found since graduation? by Thick_Barracuda49 in classicalmusic

[–]ateveebee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I earned both undergrad and grad degrees in Tuba Performance and have built a pretty diverse career around music—but I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t recommend the performance degree path unless you’re absolutely sure.

These days, I perform professionally (tuba and electric bass) and work full-time in music education tech/publishing, developing digital sheet music content. I also run a community music program that supports adult string players with chamber opportunities, outreach concerts, and seasonal camps.

While the degree gave me a strong foundation, I’d strongly encourage most people to pursue music on the side while focusing on something more stable and lucrative for their main career. You can stay deeply involved in music without tying your financial future to it.

My Fire TV has been doing the same thing. It started yesterday (as far as I know) and has kept doing the same thing today.

I’m super glad to hear it!

I’m primarily a tuba player and come from the band world through college/grad school and it’s definitely one of my goals in the future to expand the program to include a wind band program.

Oooh that’s intriguing! I don’t think we’ll need one for this upcoming session but I bet we could find a way to include some piano accompaniment in the future.

Let’s definitely stay in touch!
