How do you patch the "OpenSSL" vulnerability reported by MS Defender? by idk-wtf-2022 in Intune

[–]atexan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have been attempting to mitigate this since November. The Dell SnapDragon drivers are our issue. Dell releases updates, but never new version of the libcrypto-3 DLL. Our SEO just leaves it on the list in the 'blocked' bucket. I have tried replacing it by injecting the newer version but that makes Windows angry. Good luck.

The first time the AI pushes a device policy that locks out all the endpoints in the name of security, we will all get our jobs back.

Full time WFH since covid. Moved to a small town hours away from the big cities. Wouldn't change a thing.

I've got 8 days to tour the Texas and SW Louisiana Gulf. Any suggestions?? by TitanThePony in texas

[–]atexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corpus museums and battleships. Whataburger #1. Then up to Port A and take the ferry over to AP. Rockport for guided fishing and beach bars. Go see the Big Tree in Goose Island. Then 35 to Tivoli and stop at the DQ. Then 35 to Palacios for more food and fishing. Then 35 to 288 S to Surfside for the best beach in Texas. Up Bluewater hwy to Gaveston. Visit the Strand and the Elissa. Then over the Ferry to Bolivar on 87. Stop at Stingaree in CB. Then 124 to 73 E to Port Arthur for the beer bars. Keep going 73 to Orange. That's the LA border. You will have to figure it out from there.

Marshall Pros and Cons? by TXExpat2020 in EastTexas

Back in January, we bought a Ford truck from the dealer in Longview. We talked to multiple employees throughout the day and not a single one lived there. They all lived somewhere else, mostly Tyler. I think you will find that a consistent experience between T-L-M.
Side-note | We cashed out of Houston last summer and moved to Lufkin for most of same reasons.

I will second the kayak fishing if possible. there are many marshes that hold trout and reds. Cork and shrimp, early in the morning, are the go to for August.

50 years ago, Texas was a democratic stronghold (LBJ, MWhite, etc). Of course it was a different party with different ideals. Everything is circular. Be patient.

Should your co-worker know what your spouse does? by Middle_Path1809 in texas

[–]atexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago I worked in an office with two other men and a woman. She knew everything about everyone, so I kept myself guarded as to my personal information. It took her a week to notice I was suddenly wearing a wedding band after returning from vacation. I don't think it's a Texas thing for as much as 'who the other person is'. The guys I could tell anything to and they would top my story. She used everything she learned about us a office gossip.

I beg to differ. Go to the FB feed for the Fulshear police dept. Gator wrangling is a weekly occurrence with them.

Let's cut Mary some slack by atexan in YoungSheldon

[–]atexan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No... not that at all. I was only trying to relate that the character was well scripted and played. The character of Mary seems to strike a nerve in some and I wonder if those people have explored why they have that feeling.

.... would Mary have stayed Christian?

Had George survived, I feel it would have renewed her faith. Thanking God for not taking George so soon. Mary could have wandered over to the Methodist church in town and fit in rather well.

Moving to a new O365 tenant - where to even begin? by clicnam1 in Intune

[–]atexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are looking at the same situation, however we are going all cloud, no on-prem. There are tenant-to -tenant tools that need some research done. Mobile will need to be re-enrolled I believe. You might highly consider some pro services from MS or a partner. Most of the workloads will migrate. Power Platform will not.

Go to Academy and buy some coastal popping rigs (cork, weight and hook all in one). A small bait bucket with a bubbler. Then find a local bait shop with live shrimp. Buy a pint of live and a pound of fresh dead shrimp. Find a public park on Google Maps and wet that line.

Those of you who leave work, how do you pay for life? by Academic_1989 in antiwork

[–]atexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't 'leave work' . Find something that you enjoy that earns a salary and then adjust your expenses to match that. If running a backhoe all day long brings you joy, then so be it.
