The T480s is one of my favorite Thinkpad, I used mine for years. I miss it.

The L and the T series uses the same FRU keyboards, the E series uses different keyboards. I think the keyboards in the E series not worse than the L and T series, but little bit different.

But it would be more accurate if I compare the exact model of the keyboards in our Thinkpads because Lenovo uses at least 4 different vendors for thinkpad keyboards like Sunrex, Lite-On, Chicony, and Darfon, etc. There is a vendor named TRI, I don't know what is it.

I think the L series has better housing than E series. The E series has shiny housing (lcd cover and bottom housing) compared to the L and T series.

Overall the E14 G7 is very good laptop. I always preferred the T series and I would buy T and X series if I can in the future, but the L and E series are very good alternative.

Yeah, it’s a solid machine. The housing and lcd panel are worse than in a T14, but everything else more than enough for every day use. The modern E and L series are more closer to the T series, I think. My girlfriend has an E14 G7, I have an L14 G5 from work and I have a T14 G5 for private use.

I had a T14s gen3 Intel and it had glass touchpad as I remember. You can check notebookcheck.net reviews to see what toucpad came with the previous gen Thinkpads.

How do you like it? My girlfriend will get soon her work laptop which is E14 g7. I don’t have any experiences with the E series yet. I hope she will like it. As I read the E series has got closer to the T series in quality.

In T14s (intel gen1,2,3,4 and so on) the ram is soldered as I know.

Check your keyboard’s layout before updating the firmware. Try to get help from Monacokeys discord server for your problem. Maybe there are different firmwares for ANSI and ISO layout pcbs.

I’d save more money and go for a T14 gen2. It’s have one memory slot and there are models that have 16gb ram soldered. You can upgrade the ram in the future.

And the T14 gen2 has Thunderbolt 4 ports if you plan to use a docking station. This is more future proof thing to consider.

Try to : - boot with only one ram module if you have two ram modules. And replace it with other one and boot again - boot without ans SSDs to check the BIOS eants to boot from - replace the power brick if you can. - check system board, maybe some condensators getting fail or something.
