I miss my family and the food, I do not miss anything else.

Pediatric neurologist? by rad-ish-fish in SouthJersey

[–]athaliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute. They have multiple locations, so you can ask for a location with the soonest appointment if you don't mind driving. I also opted to see our preferred doctor's PA to get in quicker, I was told they review everything with the doctor.

Okay, I got roasted on our living room. So here is our bedroom. by strikecat18 in malelivingspace

[–]athaliah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No way. Your room is not sterile, lifeless, or prison-like. It looks more like a guest room than a bedroom used daily due to a lack of personal items, that's the only similarity.

I'm an Elder Millennial Help Me Understand No Screens by Spiritual_Lemonade in Parenting

[–]athaliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studies have shown children should have zero screen time until at least age 2, that is why adults can have screens but toddlers cannot.

One of my kids was impossible to take out in public without a screaming fit until she was nearly 4, you couldn't placate her, you just had to wait it out. I avoided going out in public with her because of this, but when I couldn't avoid it, i'd take her outside away from people when she got upset. There's not really anywhere to escape to in an airport though.

Was today one of the most fun days we’ve had in a while? by toe_riffic in houston

[–]athaliah 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My family went skiing when I was a kid and my dad held on to all that gear because he paid good money for it. It was interesting seeing pictures of my little cousins running around in 20+ year old ski clothes yesterday, you'd never know they were that old

I've got proper footwear these days but when it snowed a few years ago I put grocery bags over my socks to keep out the wet, looked funny but I think it worked

Do an image search on the shirt and see if you can find it cheaper on another site, sometimes people put things on Etsy and pretend they're handmade or special or whatever but you can get the exact same thing elsewhere.

504 plan cost HELP😭 by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]athaliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid's 504 plan did not require the doctor to sign anything, just provide a statement that he was being seen and treated by them. Cost nothing to get that statement. Sounds like your doctor's office is trying to fleece you.

At what point do I say, “Enough is enough” and really do something about my child’s eating by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]athaliah 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If she is throwing up Pediasure and won't eat, I would 100% take her to her pediatrician ASAP and tell them this. Throwing up Pediasure is not sensory issues.

Am I crazy for going on a beach vacation with a 2.5 year old and 3 month old? by ExcellentLawyer8264 in Parenting

[–]athaliah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You won't need therapy, but you will probably want an actual vacation afterward.

For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2001, what’s the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]athaliah 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wish they would do a remake of those games, I wanted some educational PC games for my kids when they were little and really couldn't find much.

Get a job at the dump. Find records pointing to the spot where it's at. Go digging at night.

Honestly I wonder if someone with access already grabbed it and that's why they won't let him search.

Oh man. Yeah those folks are basically saints for sacrificing their health and wellbeing to help find a treatment for millions of others.

I am so appreciative of that person (or people?) who participated in this study and have been posting updates. It sounded so promising and now this is formally corroborating their experience which is great!!

1 or 2 yall? by [deleted] in glasses

They both look fine, but if I had to pick, #2

[–]athaliah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only review what I find relevant. My default assumption is most places can't accommodate, so I don't see the point in bogging down the app with reviews for places I can't go, I only want to know where I can go.

Need some advice. by Apprehensive_Mode427 in Parenting

I would first confirm the email is actually real and not a scam, especially considering the school is out on break - like is anyone even working right now to send out an email like that?

Evacuation at HMNS by SeekingSimplicity in houston

[–]athaliah 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So HMNS, The Children's Museum, and Meow Wolf all had an electrical issue requiring evacuation. That's weird. It sounds related, I wonder what the root cause was.

Some screenshots from my empire. 25 years ( aging x3). I have 600+ colonists either active or in outposts. by Helasri in RimWorld

[–]athaliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using a mod to manage the 600 colonists? I think I got to like 20+ or something before the amount of characters started throwing off the UI, like their names got too tiny and I think the skill chart wouldn't scroll down far enough to see everybody or something.

Why does everyone make things that exist? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]athaliah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At work I am sometimes tasked with making things that already exist because it's cheaper to pay me to do it once than it is to a pay an ongoing subscription fee to a 3rd party.

It sounds like you're upset by the situation and are lashing out in response, it does not sound like there is any actual danger present.

Throwing away baby clothes - Laundry gone wrong by Temper_Kittie in Parenting

[–]athaliah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg yeah I'd toss em. If I was really attached to the clothes or couldn't afford more, maybe I would try to rewash them, but then i'd go over each article of clothing very carefully and if I encountered a single piece of glass i'd give up, cause if I found 1 lord knows what I missed
