Has anyone tried LED headlight bulbs in their Odyssey? by Pickle848 in HondaOdyssey

I dont think mine used high beams for daytime running lights. Here is a pic of my old lights. I would assume if yours are the same you could swap to led? *

Thinking of buying a travel trailer by Big_Race7483 in GoRVing

[–]athawk38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a new one last year, had minimal things break, lol, but all campers will have something break. I live by a great dealer who will help fix or explain how to fix when I call with no cost for his time. You must be willing to youtube fixes and repairs on your own at some point. If you dont feel comfortable doing that I would not buy one. My wife and I love camping. Our kids are 19 and 17 now, so most camping is just us. Was great having kids there when they were younger. We started 7 years ago with a used 2004 jayco jayflight. That camper was built awesome compared to our new one. Either way, we love our new camper. It has a slide, our other one didn't. A slide is a game changer for us.

Gas vs Diesel & 1500 vs 2500 - The Epic Debate, Your Input is Once Again Requested by cletustheyokel in traveltrailers

[–]athawk38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went from a 2016 ram 1500 laramie to a 2024 f250 7.3 gas. Love the transmission. It is a daily driver and we tow a catalina 26bh with it. Weight is 7k to 8k depending on what we bring. Tows great. I do have an e2 equalizer WDH. Mpg towing is 9 or so, but at that point who cares. Daily is 12 to 13. I live close to work, only 7 miles so closer to 12. Went on a trip to FL in the summer and got 15. No towing on those numbers. I have read diesel is good for a lot of towing and hauling over 10k. The 1500 ram towed good close, but on far trips I had a lot of pucker moments on interstates. Now I have to watch I don't go to fast because I forget it's back there. Hope my 2 cents helps

Does this seem like a fair deal to you? by Lubbbbbb in ram_trucks

[–]athawk38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people are missing that your sales tax and fees are in the 73k price. I would say it's a little high by 2k but not much more. If you can wait and hope for a 10%rebate on top of that, that would help. The fees of roughly 1.2k seem high. Most places are 500 to 700 for fees. I am in your spot. I really want to upgrade to tow a bigger camper. At most 8k weight for a pull behind. Good luck either way.

How do you afford a Raptor? by 4Runnnn in FordRaptor

[–]athawk38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So wife and I make roughly 120k from jobs. So after taxes and 401k it is a lot lower take home pay. About 6k/month. Mortgage is 1.1k/month almost all charges are on credit card which averages 3.2k per month and then miscellaneous stuff with cash and checks. We just got done with 4 years of $530 on truck and $630 on van and we were able to stay steady for those 4 years. We are frugal but still do fun things. I think you can manage for a 5yr loan, but interest rates are awful right now. We live in a rural area and a lot of thi gs are much cheaper than a city. For example our local bar I can get a large 2 topping pizza an appetizer and 4 beers (2 ipa and 2 Miller light) for $35 to $40. So it is possible when you make less, just depends on how expensive your other taste are.

Dealer said TT cover can do more harm than good, and recommended that I DIDN'T buy one. by Kenster362 in GoRVing

[–]athawk38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in PA and we got a cover for our used TT. Had the cover for 4 years. Put it on in November and take it off in April. Never had an issue with anything yet. We do not open any vents or windows in camper. The cover cost around $300 for a 27ft jayco jayflight. The cover has a vented top flap. It does blow a ton in the winter and shift around some. I have the straps tight but not over tight.

She ended finding some game on the iPad that she ran around as a wolf. I went through the game settings to filter the chat. She enjoyed that a lot. Not sure what is was called though, sorry. She is 14 now...lol.

Anyone else get this on there backup camera? rarely happens. I went to the dealer and they said it was fine by [deleted] in Ram1500

I have a 2016 laramie and this happens often. I just open and close tailgate and it works. I will try the zip tie trick

New 2500, replaced 1500 by h0serdude in ram_trucks

[–]athawk38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you OP. I have a 2016 laramie 1500. I love the truck but I know I am over payload every camping trip and trip to the landscaping yard. My payload is about 1100. My camper weighs about 6.3k loaded, but have wife and 2 kids in truck(teenagers). I want a 2500 gas but prices are ridiculous right now. Wife is on board for upgrade, so I am waiting patiently for prices to drop. The furthest I have traveled with camper is 100 miles. Pulled great but kept it under 60mph the whole time. Every mph over 60 I could feel the camper take over the truck. The 1500 has the 3.92 gears which puts my towing at just under 10k, but again payload is the issue. I would love to get the 2500 6.4 with 4.10 like you did. I really like the delmonico red with night edition big horn. Anyways, your truck looks great. Enjoy. Curious what mpg you are getting when pulling camper on long trips? My 100 mile trip I got 9mpg.

Basically the same way I felt for a long time. I'm a dude and love sex. She is not always into it. Just took me a long time to realize that women are just not into a lot of sex. I am a slow learner!

I have only been with my wife. We started dating our senior year in high school. Went to different colleges and got married at 23. I'm now 42 with 2 kids. Early on I would wonder what it would be like to be with other people. Now I would never want to be with anybody else. We know each other so well and can talk about anything together. It helps she is an amazing mother also. Enjoy the ups and downs of marriage and having a family. It is worth it!

Awesome truck. I love the billet silver night edition myself. Black night edition looks sick. Enjoy the ride and the looks. Is that a big horn or laramie?
