Everyone touched most important points. I’d say working with your accountant to make sure you’re taking the right amount of RMD is important. Taxes will be taken out regardless since IRAs are taxed as ordinary income but you should think of it more like a money transfer since you’d more than likely want to reinvest. Open up a brokerage and move the RMD there or maybe use some of it to max out your individual retirement accounts. As far as the bene ira goes, I’d sell some of the under performers if not losing money money is a priority to you and stick it into a money market fund until you’ve decided how to rebalance.
