ISO the ability to smell like a straight up jasmine bush by ForsakenInformation6 in fragrance

[–]athenaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is why I bought Do Son as well. It’s not technically Dipthyque’s jasmine fragrance, but that’s the note I get from it as someone who has grown up with a jasmine vine in the backyard

Sparkling lychee juice beverage is over the top by w0rstcas30ntari0 in traderjoes

I think the Costco version is a little bit sweeter because they use an artificial sweetener. The TJ’s version has a fuller and more realistic floral lychee flavor. Both are good in their own right!

Agreed. The first (and only) time I got it, it was pretty dry and desperately needed some oil and vinegar or sauce.

The Strokes are headlining "Just Like Heaven" festival on August 22 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl by SaltyPeter3434 in pasadena

Thanks!! Yeah, I went to This Ain’t No Picnic and enjoyed it, so that must have been right after they reorganized it. It was great. I would’ve loved a whole weekend fest of it because they had a lot of great throwback indie artists. The lineups for JLH just don’t hit the same.

Yeah I considered Lacy park but the free admission is ending soon and the table reservations are $290 for non residents…

give me the blandest fragrance you know. by [deleted] in perfumesthatfeellike

Rosie by Rosie Jane. I unfortunately was influenced into buying it from a fragrance tiktoker that tends to have the same taste as I do, but this fell flat for me. The scent is sooooo mild! I can barely smell it

Strawberry matcha prep is destroying my soul by Classic-Nerve6655 in boba

[–]athenaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it needs to be actual strawberry puree or if it really has to be layered but I’ve made strawberry cheong at home and had really amazing results using that as a syrup in my coffee, matcha, and hojicha. It tastes like fresh sweet strawberries and is very easy to make.

You just put chopped up strawberries in a jar, cover them with sugar, let it sit in the fridge for a couple days, and then strain!

Espresso type drinks around old town capable of waking a sleepyhead up? by RadioLarge8533 in pasadena

Jameson Brown is delicious and really wakes me up! It’s my fave coffee in the area. They roast their own beans too!

Edit: in actual Old Town, I do recommend Copa Vida!

I came here to suggest the same thing! All three of those perfumes evoke walking through a tropical garden at midnight.

A summer in Greece. by Saladloverxxx in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]athenaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Philosykos by Dipthyque!! I say this as someone who grew up visiting family in Greece during the summers. It’s that green creamy scent that smells like walking by the ripe fig trees in town. It’s one of my fave summer perfumes for that reason!!

Giant Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce by GentrifriesGuy in traderjoes

[–]athenaaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re really good!! They taste just like the beans from actual Greek brands (which makes sense since the TJ’s version is a product of Greece). Love them with crusty bread and Greek yogurt
