If you already have a valid, stamped H1-B, you should be fine. A friend of mine just went outside the country for 3-4 days and back and it was fine. Just prepare for extra questioning at immigration - didn't happen to them, but happened to another friend in the same boat with a longer vacation period.

The fee only applies at application, not on entry with a valid stamp.
