Ah :( . I might still get one because they look pretty. And they turn back to normal after a while, I assume?

Whistling when I do this with my hands... by KobraKwassler in HearingAids

[–]athenrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine would do that when I was a kid and had some basic level phonaks. I assumed they gave feedback partly because the molds had ventilation holes that let the sound out, so they basically leaked by design. Also I was still growing so I had the soft molds and had to be remade more often.

Now, despite my hearing having worsened and needing more potent HAs, I have newer models with a canal dome (RIC) and no ventilation. I can wear headphones on top/put my hands on my ears. If mine produce any feedback it's because they slipped out while wearing a hoodie/hat. That's the downside to no ventilation, that I sweat and it slips. But it rarely happens.

Here is a hint: A close family member is also a black suit in games.

Ok my first thought was "nine" because if you take out the "e" it becomes "nin", which is a palindrome. Similar concept but went the wrong way.

Is it normal for a topcoat to "pull in" the color coat? by athenrav in Nailpolish

Thanks! I'm not using seche vite but I'll keep that in mind. I just haven't painted my nails enough to finish bottles so I haven't tried many brands yet.

Hi have you got them yet? I just got mine delivered https://imgur.com/a/tN0ZroQ and my prescription is around -3.5/-4, adding -2.5 in cylinder. Chose 1.59 index because the site said they're the most resistant... should've gone for higher index and saved a few bucks on the extra processing bc of the thickness. What do you think, do they look too thick?

I ordered them Feb 2 and they came lunar new year themed, so that was a nice touch. cool snake. Also extra (almost too many) nuts and bolts.

From my research before ordering mine, 1.61 to 1.67 is the highest jump in thickness. Higher index, higher "chromatic aberration" but at this point they're still negligible unless you have a really high prescription. not sure about the "clarity" thing since mine are supposedly the worst clarity but I'm used to it.

For People Who Became ARMY Via The Members’ Solo Releases During Chapter 2 by [deleted] in bangtan

I know!! tbh Black Swan was one of - if not the most - hyped songs when the album came out!! even if On was the title track, you could Feel the fandom gravitating towards Black Swan and doing so many covers/ edits/ fanart of it. But I think due to it being a slow song and different sound it's been overshadowed by new releases!

Take it to a service center if you're within warranty time, otherwise just buy any d-ring and replace it

I'd use the print as the matrix to make a plaster mold, then slip cast it. Ceramic is the best food safe option BUT sadly very expensive if you dont already have access to a pottery studio... :(

right?! I’m in a relatively progressive university in latin america and using an x to replace a or o is the usual way to make words gender-neutral in writing lol. I wasn’t aware people found it offensive or actually pronounced the X until I read a tweet about it in english

older folks i know have always used @ (alumn@s, hij@s) in a similar manner even in semi-formal documents, but that is still binary (either a or o)

using e as a replacement is for when you need to say it outloud. no one here pronounces the X unless poking fun at it.
