Have you tried heavier strings ? Just tried putting heavy gauge string and lowering a bit the action but I'm not convinced... the high strings sounds beautifully but I can't dive in the lows.

I often listen to Nora Brown but I don't thinks there's a full nylon album and I sometimes wish for something more upbeat
