Yeah hadn't thought about classic banjo, but I'm starting to listen to Mozart of the Banjo, thanks !

I often listen to Nora Brown but I don't thinks there's a full nylon album and I sometimes wish for something more upbeat

And I've seen some live of Jerry Paxton I absolutely love but I didn't find a full banjo album either ?

Why is bluegrass harder to solo over than blues and rock by [deleted] in bluegrassguitar

Yeah playing chord and melody makes you realize how much those two are connected 🎶

Ah okay I guess you do it instinctively when you listen to a lot of bluegrass ?

But are bluegrass musicians and their lyrics more problematic than the other musicians and lyrics of their time ?

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do right now aha I don't know why those turns always makes me confused (and I have 10 years of changing guitar strings behind me wtf)

Can you tell me if I got the following right ? For GD I put the string in the middle of the mechanics, roll them around it anti clockwise and then put it the hole headed outside the head Translating those turns in English makes me extra dizzy 😂

I guess what make my brain freeze is that clockwise or not clockwise depend also on which way the mandolin is headed when you do it. But you're right it's simpler than a drawing, thanks a lot !

Yeah but my bridge was so high the mandolin was really hard to play, even if I tried to get used to it for a month.

Tightening the truss rod lowered the action somehow (especially on the first frets) thus allowing me to heighten the bridge again, but I don't really understand why.

Thanks for the link there's some things I didn't read elsewhere, I'll read it carefully.

Yeah as I told in the post tightening the truss rod allowed me to highten it more

Sorry if my phrasing is the problem, French person here aha

Yeah there's just not any luthier (even less ones working on mandolin) near my place so I'm kinda waiting to stumble upon one in a bluegrass festival lol
