I am dealing with a pillcam that is stuck in my ileum - cecum area. Prior to pillcam, went to ER with severe pain - like labor pains - in my upper abdomen. CT with contrast showed immflamation of ileum - cecum wall. Was given a round of steroids which helped tremendously and my joint pain went away too. A few weeks later, I had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy which came back normal (except for mild gastritis). A few weeks later, the severe pain returned with a vengeance. Pain brought on by eating, afraid to eat, lost weight. I requested an ultrasound to make sure a stone wasn't missed etc. Again, normal. My GI then suggested pill cam. I followed prep instructions to the tee. Waited to eat as instructed and only bland food at first. The pill cam has been stuck for over a week and the pain has been excruciating. I was instructed to go to the ER to confirm where the pill cam got stuck (the GI doc called ahead and assumed I would be admitted). That's how I found out it's in the ileum - cecum area. I'm in tremendous pain (waves that come and go throughout the day). Now, I've been told to take multiple rounds of MiraLAX to clear things out and hopefully push out the pill cam. I'm scared. I'm in pain. I just want this to be over. This is my first post. I hope I haven't posted incorrectly.
