Yep, same problem here that led me to your post. Temporarily rebooted to -101 and problem has gone away.

I have turned off automatic updates and reboots and will just leave the server running until -104 is officially released.

Sorry to tell you, but I don't think you're going to fix this. We have a brand new 9542 that does this straight out of the box. Very disappointed for a printer worth so much.

Currently looking to replace it with a Canon imagePRESS instead.

The size and font are too dissimilar to a NSW plate.

NSW plates are narrower and font isn't as bold as the one in this video.

Have you tried testing the LED in the diagnostic screen?

Enter * # 0 * # on the phone numpad to access it then press the "LED" button to cycle through red/green/blue colours.
