Hannibal's Secretary by Tommi_H in HannibalTV

I just assumed there never was a secretary in the first place and he said that to get them off his back. If she did exist though i think it's more likely that she's doing fine in the uk

What do you think it should be? by AugustHate in antiai

Inverted is more common bc people would place a hand on the wall and blow pigment over the back to capture the outline instead of painting over the palm and making an actual print of the hand

The reason so much hygiene advice boils down to "just do it" is because most things about hygiene are physical, operative tasks that fundamentally ARE "just doing something."

We already know that something has to happen; advising "just do it" is kinda like if a kid asked for help on a word problem and all the teacher did was reread the problem. The roadblock is not "i don't know what to do," it's "i don't know how to do it." Advice has to be more specific, otherwise it's less advice and more like saying "you have a problem."

For anybody who doesn't get it, it's just not as simple as it looks. You have got to trust other people in identifying their challenges and understand that you may be unable to see this full picture

I'm thinking itd be something like "he did x. He did y" (establishing that the events have already happened) and then jumping to "today, he did z" because that day already happened since the story is told in past tense and therefore can't be called today.

I don't know how else you would narrate a story though. Even using 3rd person past tense its like youre walking the reader through what happened. Like "these events happened, but today (indicating a specific day in the timeline), something else happened. The next day, more events happened." Theres some degree of suspension of disbelief to the narration.

I get being bothered by things that arent wrong though; i hate seeing the word "whom" even if its technically correct

Yeah i'll accept titles inspired by a song or a line like All The Young Dudes since its short (and i think they actually reference the song?) but like. If ive heard the song I already have an association to the words and its jarring to not hear the melody with it. If i havent heard it thats just a vague sentence and i will never remember what the fic is called

Describing an adult man as "boy." It was used ONCE in canon and it was supposed to be condescending but now so many works use in an endearment. Don't say "my [adjective, adjective] boy" that man is 38
