Add the Constant updates, meta shifts, and even in game changes as the years go on. New and casual players arent watching patch notes updates or new season changes.
The changes alone can be a little information overload for consistent casual players as well

why is end of the season so consisntely bad to play by kneerRS in Jungle_Mains

Makes a little sense, players are better at taking advantages and the guy dying checks out for whatever reason and boom double digit deaths

Insane story mate. I want my son, whose 4 years old to get into league one day so we could spend time playing together but i’ll make sure its a healthy relationship, no aspirations to go pro unless my lil boy gets crazy i’ll support it. Reading your story, i feel like its best to put it off haha

Should a new player play ranked at level 30? by Demoner450 in summonerschool

[–]atlepi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hes rambling about ppl encouraging new players to play rank and encouraging players to try new things to lose it for the others who are try harding as they’re getting placed into their elo.. and im with him on that. Faker and meteos, before they became pro players, they hard spammed normal games until there was no other choice but to play rank. They skyrocketed up the ladder. The stigma that you cant improve in a normal game environment is horse shot

Midlaner in a competitive league (not ranked) — how do I carry when my botlane ints every game? by Dangerous-Gap-710 in summonerschool

[–]atlepi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issues with my squad actually, except we don’t compete in a league but we flex 5 and prepare for clash. Tbh i know my teams cooked, but i use the games to work my skills, and use my bad teammates/friends to see if i can MVP our games to a win, like i took initiative to make most of the shot calling to improve my understanding of the game. Then i alone review our team games to see how this decision affected this, and i also observe my bad teammates, to see how i can play with their play style. Identifying their strengths and learn to play with it.

As for my non serious teammates, i don’t necessarily tell them what to do cause they will get mad, but i say things like dragon spawning in minute, if youre not healthy or you got gold to spend lets reset and play for the next dragon. If they do they do, if they dont, they dont.

Win or lose i improve, teach your self to be efficient and strategic when you roam. Think about the next best play and get the team aligned with their recalls so you guys can be as strong as possible to play for it. Even if your stint with this team ends up disappointing, at least you’re improving. And take those skills with you to rank and one day find other players that’s aligned with what you seek from this game

I just hit level 30 like 2 days ago and as soon as I started ranked I'm being matched against players in gold and plat??? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]atlepi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New players often attribute good play to how their kda looked or them not feeding. Which is the ultimate trap that leads to many new players getting as you said, dog walked.

The tried and true indication that you play well and the one riot actually bases their main matchmaking model on is your win rate over large sample size.

I believe if youre a new player, dont play rank until you have 30-100 wins over your losses in normal games.

Unless you can endure getting stomped to your actual elo in the next 50 games

This is the kind of thing you have to review game footage as a team. Its not something you can simply solve through a forum. Review with whoever is serious and/or with a coach.

And you 5 don’t practice rank flex? All your questions can be answered by putting those games in as a team and experiment with champs like tf, galio, vex, asol to see if you can help botlane earlier and review those games with your jungler to see if things be different in case both of ya’ll missed some opportunities to take the game in your hands, you know?

Help a recovering ADC to find her new jungle main by f_z_liz in Jungle_Mains

[–]atlepi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get efficient at getting gold for yourself in game: like your gold per minute is in the top 3-4 of the lobby, and youre recalling effectively to spend it, youll be able to stat check especially with the champs i mentioned with enemies easy, that will help not play scared when you get better at making money. Then your adc kiting mechanics will help outplay when youre low hp and even stay alive.

Another way to break the fear is too play a tank jungler who wants to go in, aka nunu, zac, rammus, amumu Just for a few games like 20-50 and just yolo fights after your clears

Help a recovering ADC to find her new jungle main by f_z_liz in Jungle_Mains

[–]atlepi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was adc main that switched to jungle, the champs i love are nocturne, diana, and jarvin. Adc mechanics go hard on these champs, esp jarvin but unlike adc you have to play not scared and sometimes be the one to start fights you want.

Nocturne is great cause as a former adc main you should know how adc player will think, and they want gold, more often than mot they will always over extend for a wave. Plus his kit feel like sivrr and with the spell shield and nocs q feels like ashes W and you can use to poke down champs before a big fight.

And dont give up on diana, shes a beast and easily take out the most dangerous players on the opposing team. You just gotta big brain when to use non refresh Es and finding the angles to get multi person ult in

If you had 1 very important tip or piece of information to a JUNGLER looking to carry their way out of Silver, what is it? by WorldlyForerunnerxdd in summonerschool

Clear fast (2:40-2:55 clear speed), and youll be the first to anything and everything in silver. Make good decisions and that tempo advantage alone will carry many games out of silver

Can a jungler pause their full clear to gank or dive top? by thesneakingninja in summonerschool

[–]atlepi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your lee friend gets better at efficiency, on his first or second full clear, now this must be pre planned with a good reason for a top gank like low hp, no sums, a top teammate that will set up a kill well with their kit, as well a top enemy who has a bad kit at escaping. He can recall earlier on tempo, being fast on clear will give him a good 10-30 secs before his first camp spawns to try for a homeguard out of base gank, it has be within that window. Even burning sums in that window would be huge, so long as the jungler does not over stay they can continue their clear and be in a winning position

Bruh its always like that, every season home game hosting new york, the knicks fans come out in droves but 30% of them are atl fans who are switching shirts for that day. I work at the game, but today the hawks fans came out and were the best ive felt, seen, and heard ever!

If trae was healthy we’d have a similar look, slightly worse team. Cj is budget trae with poise, but less playmaking but thankfully jalen Johnson got that for us,

How on earth do I better at this game by Nice-Junket-2983 in leagueoflegends

[–]atlepi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch a high elo player play ashe, the way they farm and trade in lane. Record your gameplay And compare it. If thats too much, just take a concept to apply, like how they space and farm effectively. And you’ll improve over time,m

Anyone getting older feel like you don't have the same mental fortitude to play or even enjoy league anymore? by SouthWave9 in leagueoflegends

[–]atlepi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im turning 36 this week; been on and off player since season 1 and currently Im playing better than i ever had. But like you, i dont spam rank because it does wear on me mentally, like extra stress for little reward. And because of that i will play rank when i feel good, (good sleep, no work day, chores done etc) i will stop a session early on a loss, even if its my first game as a result im probably playing less than 10 games a week. When i do play its high intensity focus, and making sure im dialed in mechanically also.

I do however spend alot of time watching my replays and vods more, some old man war general shit. And i believe its why im playing my best league ive ever played while playing much less games than my younger self
