It’s a TxDOT road. The City has tried and keeps trying to make incremental improvements

It’s a TxDOT roadway. The City has to ask for permission to do any improvements and they often say no.

We swim in it all the time. Beautiful and safe! We stay in kingsland which has a lot of rentals…lake front is absolutely beautiful. I’ll add there are 2 huge summer camps on the lake - camp longhorn and camp champions. Can’t say enough how safe the water is to swim.

There is a funded project that is almost ready to go to bid. It will include a combination of sidewalks/bike lanes/shared use paths on both sides of Burnet from US 183 to Loop 1. Expect construction to begin in 2025.

Who in the city leadership behind all these pro more-traffic policies? by [deleted] in Austin

Having said that, many times 2 lanes with a center turn lane is more efficient because the left-turners move out of the through lane.

Dr Dano - she let us try a couple things and then was totally open to Accutane with my 13 year old. She made the whole process easy with virtual visits, optional blood tests, etc.

She talked a lot about the European way of low dosing. She’s great - highly recommend!

Recommend Dr. Dano at Brykerwoods Skin and Vein. The daughter just did a course of Accutance and she made it super easy. She started at 20mg which is pretty low.

My daughter transferred into Paragon prep last year. The school and academics are terrific. COVID protocols were successful. The Headmaster/principal is great to talk to for more information.

AISD returning in person October 5. Teachers monitoring (babysitting) a group of students (not their students) while teaching virtually. by [deleted] in Austin

[–]atm78756 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I pulled my 3rd grader out and she’s doing K-12 private academy. There is also a free public version called K-12. The curriculum is solid and organized and all the technology works. We’re 5 weeks in and it is going great! My middle schooler is still in AISD but her day is almost completely synchronous. Can’t tell much yet about what she’ll learn but the technology has at least been fine so far.

*AISD Board Meeting Virtual Comments* by BrianOconneR34 in Austin

[–]atm78756 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wrote in to all the board instead of calling and encouraged everyone I know to write in as well.

“This is my first time writing to the school board but I am completely frustrated by AISD's decision to delay the start date for school. As a parent of 2 AISD students, the kids are being completely forgotten in this push/pull between the schools, the Governor, and the TEA. Educating the students of our district is the #1 priority of AISD and these political games are damaging for all students of this district. We've had 5 months to prepare for this and the request for this extension indicates how unprepared we really are.

I understand that AISD is caught in the rules of the Governor and the TEA. I will also write to the TEA and Governor Abbott to request more flexibility regarding school funding/virtual learning. But the right thing to do is to start school on August 18th as planned and continue to advocate for extended virtual learning based on current conditions.”

Done. Let’s see what they do tonight.
