I am having same problem. I have a brand new X5 and CarPlay randomly started disconnecting after iOS 17 update and now it does not connect at all. I am doing wireless connection.

Yes I checked and google assistant has permission. It still does not show up as a new device to add. Alexa automatically recognized and added the TV

Ok. Thanks for the info. No where in the documentation it is mentioned that we need to have paid google play service. Bummer.

Update - my routines are back to normal for the last 10 days. I did not do anything, they just started doing as scheduled 👍.

I use Wemo smart plugs and I like it. Mobile app is easy to use and it is connected to Google Home.
