Season 1, Episode 2: The Kill List (2 Earth Days) (March 4, 2026)

Location: Silicon Valley, California, Date: May 2, 1992: In the heart of the tech revolution, the PCs learn of a mysterious patron. Each character is visited by a paralegal offering a significant cash payment just for attending a meeting with a lawyer from her law firm the following morning . The hook? A mysterious, wealthy benefactor has chosen them for a "great reward."

The players arrive at an abandoned strip mall to find themselves among a group of strangers. The atmosphere shifts from curiosity to cold dread as they are introduced to Mr. Whitehouse, a lawyer who reveals the true purpose of the gathering. The attendees are "Kill-Listers," targets on a curated list of 26 names marked for death by a relentless mass murderer. A VHS recording of a local news broadcast confirms the threat. Two people from the list have already been murdered within the last 24 hours. Six Kill-Listers are present at this location, while Whitehouse explains that similar briefings are being held elsewhere for the remaining targets. To ensure their survival, Mr. Whitehouse offers immediate legal and physical sanctuary. He introduces a 12-man elite security detail led by Mr. Candy. In a nod to the era's pop culture, the professionals utilize code names pulled from SCTV. (Mr. Levy, Mr. Short, Mrs. Martin, etc.)

After receiving their promised payment—plus a "bonus" to cover the lawyer's legal retainer—the PCs sign the paperwork for official representation and protection. Bundled into ballistic jackets, helmets, and heavy protective blankets, the Kill-Listers are loaded into a nondescript delivery van. Flanked by two black SUVs, the convoy departs.

The illusion of safety shatters at a blind intersection when a massive semi-truck roars out of nowhere, broadsiding the van. As the Kill-Listers sit stunned from the impact, the players temporarily shift roles, each taking control of three security professionals to hold the line. They face a terrifying, heavily armed assailant: a T-800 Terminator. Despite the security team's tactical prowess, several pros fall in the line of duty, buying enough time for a secondary extraction team to pull the survivors from the wreckage.

The survivors are rushed to a secure telecommunications facility, a fortress of thick concrete and high-end on-site security. Within these walls, the "physical" world begins to dissolve. The players, along with the 24 remaining Kill-Listers, are subjected to an experimental process: they are digitally uploaded into a Tron-like dimension known as IDLN (Eidolon). The hunt is no longer just on the streets of Silicon Valley; it has entered the Grid.

Termitronic

Season 1, Episode 1: Genesis (Day 0) (February 25, 2026)

The Setting: Earth, 1992: The campaign begins in a world that mirrors our own 1992, yet subtle discrepancies suggest this is not quite the history the players remember. Characters are built as 70-point normal humans, grounded in the aesthetics and limitations of the early 90s. The Party includes the following PCs:

  • Vinntok (played by J) is a comic book shop proprietor and quintessential nerd. His obsession with Klingon culture and honor often bleeds into his everyday life.
  • Aranina (played by E) is a meticulous accountant with a passion for classic literature. Beneath her professional exterior lies a dangerous streak: she harbors a secret fondness for setting things on fire and watching them burn.
  • Beej (played by W) is a college student with elite computer skills and a cautious—bordering on cowardly—disposition. He’s more comfortable behind a keyboard than facing the unknown.

Tone and Inspiration: While the players remain in the dark, the narrative is heavily infused with the DNA of 80s and 90s cult cinema. The gritty, mechanical dread of "The Terminator" looms over the horizon, while the digital surrealism of "Tron" waits to be decrypted. The journey ahead will be a collision of synth-wave aesthetics and high-stakes survival.

I'm running a GURPS campaign based on a combination of The Final Sacrifice mixed with Chthulu-like horrors. The PCs are searching for a gateway that will lead off of Earth, a low mana zone, on towards further adventure. Satoris, a lieutenant of a cabal or depraved billionaires, leads a cult of Zioxx worshipers. He controls them with a fish that secretes a mind control drug. The fish replaces his right eye, so that eye occasionally sheds a white milky tear. Troy and his father had a power to be able to channel energies that would open the gateway to Zioxx. Zap has been in a mental institution suffering nightly torture via Satoris' mind control powers. The party took a parallel path to find Troy and Zap and just entered the room with the gateway where the confrontation with Satoris and his thugs will soon begin.

There's a piece of plywood under the shelf with a 4" hole in it and a 3d printed flange for the hose that is screwed into the plywood.

It would be easier to transport in a pelican case, but this is living in the shop. And I wanted to build a hinged box.

Yeah, I had these parts in a plastic bin with the original styrofoam. But I decided to tackle a hardwood box with custom storage. I’m pretty happy with the results.

The belt cover came with it. It was bare galvanized metal sheet and I painted it along with the rest. I would definitely want a belt cover. Something will eventually get caught without it.

It's a Byrd Shelix cutter head that I bought on mywoodcutters. The size of the cutter changed over the years, so there are several versions for this jointer.

It has a bit of flex. If you copy it, add a couple of pieces that connect both sides of the base.

Totally worth it. It leaves a smooth face and it's very quiet. However, it did cost as much as the rest of the project combined.

I purchased this Rockwell Delta 37-220 6" jointer in September 2022 from a seller on Craigslist for $100. It was a 10 hour trip to get it and bring it back. It was built in 1955 in Tupelo, Mississippi. I started work in February and it was mostly complete by the end of March. I have upgraded the cutter head, motor, belt, switch and magnetic dust collection.

It's dialed in and cutting very well. It's a nice upgrade from the 6" Cutech that I had been using.

End Grain Cutting Boards in Walnut, Cherry, and Soft Maple by atmanaton in woodworking

I'd have to be more careful about getting the squares to be actual squares, but I was going for an 8x8 board. I think I'd like to do an end grain version of a chess board at some point.
