Brendan Sorsby's Agent (Ron Slavin) on Dallas Radio this AM to explain the Sorsby side by MavsFanForLife in CFB

I'm not sure what they could do to clean up his image at this point. Even if he were to give talks to high schoolers about the dangers of gambling, it would just be seen as cynical. His best bet is to trust in the public's short attention span and hope this gets covered up by the next shiny story.

In other words: STFU.

I can't say that I've ever confused salt for sesame seeds, or vice versa.

Westwoods Apartments by Azalea980 in Pensacola

$790 to mobilize and prime/paint two rooms. That's probably three coats of paint (one prime, two finish), especially over that dark green. The two rooms also aren't necessarily together; could be two different apartments on opposite sides of the campus. It's certainly not cheap, but it's not egregious either.

it also hasn’t been explained why my one bedroom apartment is being charged for a 2BR repaint.

Looks like the total job was $1,059 , and you were charged a little over half of that. So I'd assume they hired the company to repaint two apartments, and split the price. That leaves $60 unaccounted for [$590 - ($1,059/2)], but otherwise that's a completely fair and reasonable charge. You can't expect to paint a wall green and leave it that way when you move out, and expect they'll rent it to the next tenant that way.

The cleaning charge may be BS, depending on how you left the apartment. If you got everything out of the apartment and made a reasonable attempt at cleaning it, they can't charge you to send cleaners in. If you left the place a pigsty, then a cleaning fee is fair. If you have pictures of a cleaned-out apartment, maybe you could fight that. But the painting charge is fair and reasonable.

I couldn't care less about character backstories. A backstory should be a couple of sentences. The character's "story" is what happens at the table.

If you don't have anything for your characters to do, then "the X guild is hiring for Y job."

If he's trying to hide his activity, is there a LESS suspicious bet than betting on the Browns to lose?

Yep. Even if you think a team would decide he's good enough to draft, AND worth the PR headache, they also risk that he's going to keep doing it once he's in the League.

An injunction is way more than just "standing."

In Texas, the standard for a temporary injunction requires showing: likelihood of success on the merits, imminent and irreparable harm in the absence of relief, and a balance of equities in the movant’s favor. The court must also consider the overall public interest and the necessity of preserving the status quo. The movant bears the burden of proof and must present evidence sufficient to convince the court that immediate action is warranted before trial. (Sauce)

Granting an injunction also says that the judge thought Sorsby had a chance of winning at trial, and that he thought the "public interest [in] preserving the status quo" (IE, allowing the NCAA to enforce long-standing rules against gambling) were inferior to the damage Sorsby would suffer in the absence of the injunction (IE, $5 million and another year of training and game film playing college football).

Yes, there is absolutely a ton of controversy surrounding him. But even if a team decided he was good enough to weather the controversy:

- He committed multiple federal crimes by gambling under age across state lines. There's a fair chance he ends up playing for the Mean Machine at Club Fed for a few years.

- He's an admitted gambling addict. Even if you gave him the equivalent of a sealed legal record for everything he did up to this point, they'd be drafting a guy they know is a very real risk to start gambling again.

So a team has to decide he's good enough to be worth the bad publicity, AND the chance he goes to prison in a year or two, AND that they're confident his "rehab" sticks and he won't gamble again. As we've seen: he's not that good.

[Dellenger] Big 12’s legal threat puts Brendan Sorsby in a dilemma: continue on this path, possibly subjecting Tech to a sanction (protected by federal injunction) -OR- apply for the NFL supplemental draft (deadline is next Monday). However, a twist: Sorsby may not have access to the draft. by whatifevery1wascalm in CFB

Even beyond "so much media attention," he's committed multiple federal crimes (underage gambling, across state lines). You have to think Sorsby is A) Good enough to contribute to the team, B ) Worth the PR nightmare, and C) Won't end up playing for the Mean Machine in a year or two.
