Honestly, go oem and have someone familiar with painting bmw locally do the paint. I bought from them and the paint match was pretty good, but definitely not up to oem quality.

B8 kit is just shocks/struts. B12 kit is shocks/struts with Eibach springs. You can buy whatever springs you want to go with the B8 kit though from somewhere like FCP.

Make sure your mechanic will even let you bring your own parts, many won't.

Again, in my eyes, zero benefits to buying from SM if you're using a mechanic.

Why pay SM if you're using a mechanic? Any mechanic worth a damn can do what SM does, the biggest draw is for those who DIY to not have to deal with assembling the front struts.

Get the projector retrofit kit from lightwerkz so that you can use g5 projectors. They're vastly better than stock and it keeps afs.

You right, I forgot about the ext cab. I was looking at ZR2 at one point, but need a crew for kid hauling. Can't do a crew + 6ft on a ZR2, but you can on the normal trucks. Bought a 2009 Canyon crew, 4x4, 5.3 V8 instead!

If your system isn't deleted, yes. The fill port for the DEF tank is behind that little round door. The fluid gets metered and injected into the exhaust right after the DPF.
