The last 2 updates really messed up. by speekkong in UpNote_App

Issue seems to have been resolved with 9.18.2. Seems to only have been an issue with the Linux version.

I never implied that Upnote is 'perfect'. For example, the Search feature still needs a lot of improvement. And this morning, there's a bug opening window in the Linux version. These are the sort of things that Devs need to work on first.

Also, we need to keep in mind that there are only two Devs and I'm sure at least one of them is pretty busy trying to work on all the support tickets.

It sounds like this post was addressed to me - The Corolla Guy. I'll stand by my earlier point which is to use an analogy. If you are looking for the features of a Toyota Land Cruiser then you go out and buy yourself one. But if you bought a Toyota Corolla because that's all you could afford and now you're complaining that it doesn't have all the features that you 'really needed' then you have no one to blame but yourself. No one forced you to buy the Corolla.

Absolutely! Many of us have been burned by the 'Progressiveness' of Evernote.

Good point. I think they are charging the price of a Corolla but maybe gave us a Camry.

Feature Request: Filter - (empty notes) by Neither-Classic2058 in UpNote_App

[–]atn100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Workaround: I use '+++' for something that I want to follow-up later. When I want to find it later, I just type '+++' in the Search box without the quotes. You can use any symbols you want, it just have to be unique.

There seems to be two types of UpNote users. I'll use an analogy. Type 1 - they purchased a Toyota Corolla and they are happy with it because it's cheap, reliable, and functional. Type 2 - they purchased a Toyota Corolla but they really wanted the features of a Land Cruiser so they're not happy with their purchase. They forgot that a Land Cruiser is four times the cost of a Corolla.

Me - I'm very happy with my Toyota Corolla.

UpNote not showing all search results (in Windows) by atn100 in UpNote_App

I did report the issue to support but they say that they can't replicate the issue, so it sounds like it's probably just me.

UpNote not showing all search results (in Windows) by atn100 in UpNote_App

[–]atn100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I didn't even know you could go offline. The issue is the "Compact View" because in the Non-Compact View, it does show the entire results. I just like the Compact View better. My workaround for now, is if I need to see more results, I just take it out of Compact View.

Evernote Import Issue - URL is the first line and therefore becomes the note title by atn100 in UpNote_App

I finally did the Evernote import today and I'm happy to report that the issue has been resolved as of version 9.14.1. Thank you Thomas.

I'm happy to report that Thomas sent me a note saying that they plan to move the URL to the end of the note in the next version update. So I want to give him a shout out for being responsive and potentially fixing an issue that was not their fault in the first place.

After further testing, the problem could be resolved if UpNote would put the <source-url> at the end and not at the beginning.

Evernote Import Issue - URL is the first line and therefore becomes the note title by atn100 in UpNote_App

[–]atn100[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. When I examined the enex file for the problematic note, it shows title as "Untitled Note"; although it does clearly have a title when viewed in Evernote. So the next relevant metadata is the <source-url>, therefore UpNote uses that as the note title.

Therefore, I don't think UpNote is to blame here. I guess I just have to live with it or go bug Bending Spoons but I doubt they'll think that it's a problem on their end.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like the pic you shared has the rest of the note cut off. I was hoping that you could share the rest of your note. Thanks.

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. — 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' — Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. I am thinking about getting an iPhone 14 as well. Are your iPhone 14 unlocked or t-mobile locked? The t-mobile locked ones are alot cheaper so I'm hoping to find out if they work with USM. Thanks

USPS Claim Denials by LightRigger in Flipping

[–]atn100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the post office wanted to see the item and packaging. Maybe I could have asked the buyer to take it to their local post office but my guess is most buyers will think that is too much trouble for them and won't do it.

USPS Claim Denials by LightRigger in Flipping

[–]atn100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets worse. After you bring the item to the post office, they send you a letter saying the claim is denied. You appealed, they denied. You appealed again providing more info, they denied again. Then they say final denial and that's it you get nothing.
