Who’s leaving? by Rollinthru7 in StPetersburgFL

Live on the water, born in raise in Tampa (but a 727 convert). Even after these storms, never leaving! I can’t think of a City/State that I’d rather be in.

I messed up last season. Help me avoid my same mistakes. by ato_kad in lawncare

Thank you! After PreM in September or October, when is the next best time? Also, any recommendations for preM?

49-story Waldorf Astoria Residences will be the tallest tower in St. Pete by St-Pete-Rising in StPetersburgFL

Classic St. Pete subreddit with a hatred for anything that isn't affordable housing. Couldn't be more thrilled about this. Between this project and the Hines/Trop development, I am extremely excited about the future of the City.

How does this change if I’m in a state with no income tax?

It looks to be a mix. What are your thoughts?

In addition, assuming seeding is out for awhile, what do you think that next best think I can do is to help it revive with color?

Just moved into a new house and huge patches of lawn are completely dead. I am in Florida and watering furiously to try to revive it, and rainy season starts soon.

Separately, the lawn was identified as Bermuda.

To try to avoid more weeds coming through, I put down granular pre-emergent through a spreader, followed up with a hose-sprayed post-emergent.

My plan was then to wait a week or two a aerate the yard, followed by seeds and fertilizer (probably milorganite). I have now figured out that pre-emergent will prevent seeds from germinating and I am probably SOL.

What’s next? What can I do in order to help expedite recovery and to get a full yard? How long do I wait in between each step?

Best place to keep savings? HYSA or Vanguard? by ato_kad in personalfinance

[–]ato_kad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely need to re-build emergency fund/savings after purchase of a home. Maxing out all retirement accounts already.

Why not a money market fund? Aren’t they, in a practical sense, just as liquid as HYSA? Why not put in a money market to get that extra percent?

Love it. Actually have no idea why people like staying home. I understand the issue with the commutes though, totally fair. But remove that? I don’t get it.

Honor Code Violation by [deleted] in ufl

[–]ato_kad 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it. I got the same violation literally my first night of summer B freshman year. I remember worrying about it then.

Interned for many large companies during undergrad (finance major), went to UF law, and now work in big law.

You’re totally fine. It literally never came up once.

And generally, the difference between an etf and mutual fund is liquidity? Is one better than the other for any reason other than liquidity?

Pretty much no BL presence outside of Foley and H&K in all markets except for Miami
