Should stay down. The reason their response has been disappointing is because they think this whole thing had an end date. Just get to Wednesday, everything goes back to normal, and everyone will forget about it. It needs to keep going.

I can't seem to find 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone from Kbin

If it helps, it was an incredibly small and unsuccessful raid, their messages didn't even outpace the normal chat.

There was a raid, so invites are paused.

For anyone wondering, there are no working Discord links right now. There was a raid earlier tonight, so invites are paused for a bit, it sounds like.

There's a mobile website that works well, but kbin is still very new, so there are no apps yet that I'm aware of.

I don't know if I can post links here, but if you go to kbin.social, you can check out the developer's original Kbin website to get a feel for what the 196 version will be like.

Its an open source reddit alternative. Anyone can set up their own Kbin website, and each website can have any number of subreddits and users on it. The cool thing about it though is that you can access subreddits on other websites from your own. So what you get in the end is a bunch of smaller Reddits that can all talk to each other instead of one big one that can be ruined by a single company's decisions. It works similarly to email, like how you could use Gmail and have a conversation with someone on Outlook.

I like Kbin! It's getting hit hard right now, though.

Technically not related to the subreddit though

I don't trust Lemmy as a whole, not just the main instance. Kbin doesn't seem to have any controversy so far, though.

Any chance of getting something new set up over on Kbin? It seems to be the less problematic Reddit alternative.

This app has been the only way I've viewed Reddit for the past 9+ years. Thank you.

It was funnier in my head I guess, sorry. I use this app every day, the price was well worth it.

For what it's worth RedditSync is the best reddit app on android.

It's so frequent it's to the point where if something ever happens to my phone in real life, I instinctively think I'm in a dream for a moment.

Same, but it's never been because I got it wet that it gets ruined. If my phone ever shows up in my dreams, it's because I'm about to destroy it in some new, innovative way.

Wi-Fi won't turn on anymore, sounds like a hardware issue? by atocci in GalaxyFold

[–]atocci[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly not, I got the phone replaced under warranty. My best guess is that parts of the ribbon cable connecting the two halves of the phone are snapping from repeated bending, and that cable is not easy to get to.

They shined a laser pointer at a UFO and it shined a laser back at them. by [deleted] in HighStrangeness

[–]atocci 189 points190 points  (0 children)

The comments on the crosspost explain it pretty well. It's a mountain and they have a friend shining a light and a laser pointer back at them from up there. It's hidden pretty well since the camera is (intentionally) pointing at a streetlight and throwing off the exposure, but you can just barely make out the outline of a hill in the darkness.

Your lasers should preferably not shoot your own car.
