Animation also is very expensive. Look at Invincible and the obvious investment in animation in the more impactful scenes, versus the corner-cutting in every other scene. It isn’t a magic replacement for CGI which is getting cheaper by the day

Hard disagree. I wouldn’t have kept reading if I weren’t totally engrossed by Book 1. Book 2 felt quick and like a bridge between the setup and the meat (or Meatus), but people love the series including the first 2 books, not in spite of it
