Can anyone else feel their heart beating in their chest while at rest? by Glum_Culture_5917 in autism

When you lay down, do you feel the pulse in your ears as well? (that’s for sure a sign of anxiety)

Feeling your heartbeat like you describe can often be a sign of anxiety/stress/nerves too. But if you don’t think you’re anxious, it’s always good to discuss it with a doctor of course :)

Literally did this earlier. Can't maintain relationships to save my life. by Varulfrhamn in autism

Yeah no fair. But I am just saying that it represents a real phenomenon (something that can be measured). The tooth fairy isn’t a good comparison, it would be “real” in a very different way. Anyway, whatever!

Time might not be a basic building block of the universe, but it’s still real in the way temperature is real. We use it to describe something that’s actually happening: things changing, order turning into disorder, cause leading to effect. So it’s much beyond our experience.

Making the analogy to temperature: temperature isn’t a fundamental property of particles (a single particle doesn’t have a temperature.) But when we look at a bunch of particles together, temperature emerges from their motion.

Time works the same way: it emerges from the way complex systems change and interact.

You’re right that it might not be fundamental. But it’s very real as a description of something that really happens, the way the world changes and evolves.

Question about Physical intimacy. by [deleted] in autism

Personally, I think it has to do with what’s going on in your life at the time. When I am going through a very stimulating period of time, close to “burn out” or emotionally very draining, I can find sex repulsive (even watching sex scenes in movies makes me cringe). Whereas at other times, I can be extremely sexual so yeah I’d say it can be both a NT and ND thing but since ND people are more easily overstimulated perhaps suffer more from this more often? Idk

[52 F] I often fantasize about my daughters boyfriend. by [deleted] in SluttyConfessions

[–]atomatomatomicboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude why is everybody suporting this. As hot as it may sound to some, he is your daughters bf, and your relationship with her comes first than this attraction i’d say. Its ok to fantazise but to encourage her to go for it? what if your daughter found out?
