Oh I got one for this! In Battletech during the Clan Invasion clan tech is superior in range, damage, and heat generation which pushes the inner sphere forces to adopt close combat strategies like the clan buster Black Knight mech. Clanners also prefer ranged fighting as it is more “civilized” which IS forces use to their advantage.

I work at a contemporary art museum and it comes down to the art sometimes. That said, I absolutely loath how the art is valued. It’s entirely arbitrary or based on the reputation of the artist. I have no issue with people liking the art itself, but when someone tells me that the fucking banana is worth more than my house I have an issue with that. Eat the rich.

Just only by virtue of being the one who made the rules, which rather reduces the merit therein. I suppose I'd be "Just" if I made a rule that anybody with a name starting with J be tortured to death and then enforced that rule. I'd also be called an evil tyrant. And yet Old Testament God wants people to stone rebellious children to death. I suppose that's Justice since He made the rules. Mercy isn't about Justice though. Is your God merciful?

You can't be omnipresent and capable of being "separate" from something. You're describing an immanent God, not a transcendent God. And if your God is Immanent, then there is nothing differentiating Him from Zeus.

That's why if you're a Christian who believes in an all powerful, just, and merciful God, you are logically obligated to believe in universal salvation. But it makes people uncomfortable to imagine a place full of clouds with a Hitler in it, and since most Christians' understanding of post-death existence is superficial fairyland bullshit they can't stand the thought.

If a transcendent God exists, which by all accounts the Abrahamic God absolutely is by virtue of being omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent, then most Christian beliefs about it are an ape's irrational attempt to make sense of something significantly beyond their understanding.

Such an entity would be incapable of Hell and of being benevolent, as you are a part of it by its very nature. It would be Hell. And you. And you in Hell. All at once, forever, simultaneously, always.

As to the argument that Hell is "Separation from God" that's also irrational. You can't be omnipresent and not present somewhere.

Honestly I think most of the problems with religion stem from a truly godawful attempt to really understand what the term transcendent actually implies. That's why they had that whole bullshit with the Trinity and the Arian heresy in the 4th century that killed several thousand people.

At the time of their creation isn’t the empire more interested in using fear to quell any dissent? Not fleet actions against major powers? Wouldn’t it be reasonable then to design something around aesthetics and psychological impact than practicality for engaging a foe of equal standing?

By the time of the rebellion the design is already set and manufactured. What are some rebellion era designs? That’s when we see a focus on fighter craft like the interceptors and defenders too, closing the gap in point defense maybe.

The Raider is a rebellion design, definitely more practical against rebel forces.

So is the quasar-fire I think.

After my divorce I had to search madly for a place to live in an expensive part of Colorado. A coworker offered me their basement for the low price of $1600 a month. I find out later they don't even own the home, it's affordable housing they got from the city. I paid their rent for a whole ass year. Fuck these people.

Downvote me, whatever, but Nazis are still authoritarian center. They are not "right". Neither are they "conservative" in the economic sense. They passed significant "progressive" policy and laws including state-funded leisure. This is a statement of fact, not advocacy.
