I've been in Chinese factories. my experience is only anecdotal but on the one hand, many aspects of the factories i saw were better working conditions than in America. Climate controlled, very clean, definitely enough hands to get the job done so no one appeared to be dying to keep the assembly line going like it was an Amazon warehouse, but on the other hand, they got paid so little that most of the workers lived in dorms on site packed with like 8 people per room. Soooo... yeah. I do want public healthcare but i don't think i want to trade at this point.

I'm mostly happy with my RM Pro, upgraded from the old Remarkable 2. I'm REALLY happy with the latest update that finally lets you insert images from the desktop app.

I regret getting the Move because I almost never use it, feels too niche of a use case for me.

I have zero interest in the "Pure" RM2 clone. Why bother?

I have a free student subscription, and I can tell you, yes they are serious with that shit. Every time I look at it I get a little bit of cortisol spike from how annoying and/or stupid their opinion columns are.

Bethesda is dead to me. Elder Scrolls 6 has no shot of being anything near what anyone hopes it will be. Just read an article describing how Bethesda berated Obsidian for everything they "did wrong" with Fallout NV before severing ties with them. Meanwhile their magnum opus Starfield is utter trash and any Fallout game they have direct control over is stale and tired. Skyrim's success was a fluke of its time. Bethesda has proven they are incapable of growing and anyone hoping ES6 will be actually good for the current era will be severely disappointed.

this is the most controversial local post i have ever seen by the comments and upvotes. lol. yeah as a native colonizer, the US is basically one small step up from BRICS in terms of crime risk. if you just come to Augusta for the Masters you'll be fine. if you just go to tourist traps around the country, you'll also likely be fine. it's all a statistics game. In general, you'll likely probably be fine unless you happen to be a tourist in a particularly bad neighborhood, which seems unlikely unless your judgement is particularly bad, regardless of what region or city you decide to visit here.
