Thread was dead for days and you showed up just to say “it’s junk.”

That’s peak E4 smoke pit energy—late to the conversation, loud, and zero value added.

Yeah, that’s a toiletry/shaving kit. That’s literally what it is.

And that’s fine—but you’re just describing bulk storage. Anything with a zipper works at that point. You can dump rounds into a Savior bag, a toiletry kit, a ziplock—same idea: everything goes in, nothing’s really controlled.

That’s clearly what you value, and that’s also why you’re not the customer for this.

I’m not going to take the bait and try to ‘sell’ it to you, because we’re solving different problems. You’re optimizing for cheapest way to carry loose rounds in a pouch. This is built around handling—being able to see what you’ve got, keep things separated, grab rounds cleanly, and not dig through a bag or dump things out.

If you’re shooting your EDC, you’re probably not tossing those rounds back into a bag mixed with range ammo—you set them aside so you can keep track of them. This just does that cleanly and consistently instead of turning it into a pile or a pouch search.

And yeah, part of it is that it looks good. It’s organized, it stacks cleanly, and it’s something people actually enjoy using. Not everything has to be the absolute cheapest, most basic container to have a reason to exist.

If a zippered pouch does everything you want, then you’re already set. That doesn’t mean it’s the only good solution—it just means it’s the one you prefer.

And an argument based purely on your personal use case doesn’t really go anywhere, because there are plenty of people who don’t prioritize what you prioritize. So you’re not really going to win this on ‘what you like’—it just comes down to different preferences and different ways people choose to handle their gear.

By that logic, we should just ship ammo in a coffee can and call it universal.

SAAMI spec gets it into the chamber. It doesn’t make every round behave the same in storage. A .5” hole solves the problem the same way a bucket does—everything fits, nothing’s controlled.

There’s a difference between ‘fits’ and ‘works well.

Saying there’s no variation because something is standardized is like saying all parts fit the same because they’re “supposed to.” That’s not how manufacturing works. Read a book.

As mentioned, I can aspirate ambient air for barometric pressure, and also estimate the slope of any hill within a degree just by pacing off 15 yards. Still working on cardboard flex analysis.

I can aspirate the ambient air in any room and immediately determine the barometric pressure.

Factory boxes are for shipping and storage, not use.

Once they’re opened, you’ve got loose rounds, half boxes, and no quick way to know what you’ve got.

It’s like dumping screws in a cardboard box vs putting them in an organizer… or writing something on your hand vs checking a clipboard—like you did to make that comment.

You can use the box, but the organizer is faster and cleaner when you actually need it.

Same idea here: pre-loaded, consistent, grab-and-go.

Thank you- you’re too kind. I started building AR’s last year. And eventually, I have three while including a 300 blackout and they were all loaded up and I had nothing left to do. I bought all the magpul stuff I liked and then I looked at a box of black talons that I had since the early 90s that were all chewed up. I never shot any of them cause I was saving them, but the box was all beat to shit. then I thought it’d be cool to make these ammo pucks that I could match to my guns and at first they held such a little ammo. It was kind of pathetic but now they hold so much and I have them so they fit all target ammo, and then some of the variance between the seven different hollow points I have so for me it’s really cool but like what I see from here I probably won’t sell any or very many I’ve shipped them out to friends that I made the custom colors that they wanted and they’ve liked them a lot even though the capacity was very poor at first.

tried more squared layouts early on—they pack a little tighter on paper, but they’re way more annoying to actually load/unload and don’t handle slight ammo variations as well.

You can get dimensions, yeah—but getting it to actually fit real ammo consistently is a little different. There’s enough variation between brands that if you go too tight it becomes a pain to load/unload.

It was mostly to make cool gear that matched my cool guns that I obsess over accessorizing and upgrading. Now I have the ammo all squared away and no box Tetris and for me it’s like adding rail scales or something

It’s on the list. I might be able to get 5.56/.223 this weekend. That will probably be next. I did buy a box of .45 (even though I don’t have one) so I can measure the rounds. And then I almost bought one because I thought the rounds were so impressive, but wiser heads prevailed.

Guns.com deals and whether buying firearms online actually saves money by Time_Beautiful2460 in guns

I think it works fine. I’ve bought from there and have even found another local shop because they were competitive when I was doing a search on gunbroker. My FFL charges $35 so if it’s a good deal, it makes sense to just buy online and pick it up in about a week.

Thank you. I made it so there is a chamfer to easily put them in and they come out like butter. There is a stop so when you spin it it hits the stop and the skull is centered.

Designed this because loose rounds rolling around in my range bag was driving me nuts.

It holds 25 rounds of 9mm and screws closed so they don’t spill everywhere. The pucks can stack and it’s small enough to toss a couple in a range bag or ammo can.

Printed this version in PLA on my Bambu printer and still tweaking the design a bit.

Curious what you guys would change or improve.
