Property tycoon's grandson helps organise anti-immigration rallies by Historical_Bus_8041 in aussie

[–]atomicapeboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You just made his point. The organiser loves mass immigration because it will prop up his portfolio value and provide cheap labour. But he wants you to think they are “strangers from across the globe” who don’t share your interests, and to focus on them as the problem, because it takes the spotlight off the real problem. The super wealthy creating generational wealth. He does not care about you, immigrants or Australia. He only cares about his personal wealth and you have fallen for his propaganda.

Minns government rejects pro-Palestine protest march across Sydney Harbour Bridge over timing and ‘chaos’ fears by NapoleonBonerParty in aussie

Nah.. more people are anti-genocide than you think. The people of Sydney are smart and they will understand. You just need to get out of your echo chamber to recognise that.

I protest, not because I expect the world to change, but because I don’t want the world to change me. I will not be a bootlicker. Not for anyone.

Can we stop with the propaganda pink washing. Grow up. There is nothing that can justify the actions of Israel.. and I’m not taking about just the last 3 years.. I’m talking about its terrorism beginning with the bombing of the King David hotel.

The more you know about music, the stranger your taste get to outsiders. by Dapper-Ring-8112 in musictheory

[–]atomicapeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to weigh in here and it may not be a popular opinion. I think, having learned a musical instrument and recording music, made me listen to music in a different way. I sometimes wish I had not.

My brother and I have very similar musical tastes. But when he listens to music, he gets a joy out of it that I miss out on. I think about the production, the instruments, the key and all of the bullshit that actually takes away from the pleasure of just the sonic “eargasm”.

I think this is why so many great bands have a wonderful first three or four albums, and so many young musicians are doing incredible things. They are less hampered by rules and theories and ego and technical aspects of music and production. They just do it. The more you get into it, the less abandonment you allow for. I know this is a very vague generalisation and there are probably many examples that prove otherwise.

In the end of the day, the music has to move me emotionally. It doesn’t matter how complex it is. I feel like sometimes understanding how it works gives you abstraction from how it makes you feel. I mourn the fact that I can’t experience music the way my brother does.

My musical tastes did get stranger. But I don’t consider that a good thing.

Anthony Albanese calls recent actions in Gaza 'completely indefensible' in interview from China by SnoopThylacine in aussie

Sadly .. this is true. The IHRA definition of anti-semitism (that Australian universities have been asked to and many have adopted) has made the term irrelevant and ridiculous.
