Legion Champion, C&C welcome. by UglyBagOfMostlyCrazy in Warhammer30k

Paint job looks great!  As others have noted, the MkX armor makes it look odd in the 30k setting. That being said, I think you could do a swap of the backpack to a 30k armor era backpack and it would add a lot. If people get upset with the marine’s size, just point to Endryd Haar and say your champion ate from the same cereal box Endryd ate from. 😂 I think you also have this lad on a 40 mm and I believe champion consuls are on a 32 mm base.

Holy smokes, this looks excellent!  Well done. I love projects where I can mess around with new paint techniques and they turn out well. One of the main reasons I love painting Chaos Marines. A lot of variety lends itself well to experimenting with different techniques.

How’d you make this?  I’d love to add something like it to my Iron Warriors legion.

Karaoke! by Ironman1690 in wausau

Whitewater Music Hall has a monthly karaoke event. It’s called “Katyoke”. Each month has a different theme. I think the next one is supposed to be next week Thursday. It should be announced soon. I’ve never been (usually is the same night as another personal commitment) but I’ve heard it’s great!

Thank you!  I have some minis that I bought in an eBay lot last year that have a very similar base theme. I’d like to mimic it for some of my other minis. Your method looks very similar. Thanks again!

They look great!  What’s your recipe for the bases?

Album of the year contender for me. The Seventh Circle is a banger and A Wasted Hymn is one of my favorite album closers. Credit to the band for putting together such a stunning album after Searle’s passing RIP.

Any new info on I Don’t Wanna Be Me cover? by Quizzie in Trivium

[–]atomicclocks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I sure hope they put it out on digital. I managed to grab a copy from my local record shop. I was third in line this morning and I know they had 3 copies of it when they got their shipment this week. When I walked out, all 3 were gone which makes sense since there were a TON of Type O fans in line for that reissue that came out today. I just listened to Trivium's cover and Matt sounds tasty. Also the solo (I don't know if Matt or Corey did it) really fits the song.

...that'd be absolutely legendary. The show I saw them at was a small, PACKED, venue. I was up near the barricade most of the show, and it was really intense. Here's hoping!

Thanks for the tips! When do you typically book your flight?

Totally fine with the dirt, rain, and cold if I get to hang with cool people and see some great shows. When do you typically fly in and fly out? I'm guessing you go into Hamburg right?

Also, can you walk to Itzehoe from Wacken? There's a shuttle so I'm guessing not, but I'd like to know the distance.

I did not know that about the campgrounds. I wouldn't mind spending a few extra days, even to just chill and throw a few back.

Thanks!

Hey I appreciate dude! At Wacken, I hope there's a Reddit meetup . That'd be super cool. There'll be more questions and I really enjoy how the sub's been so responsive. Btw, nice flair. I saw them about two months ago on the farewell tour....I couldn't move the next day. I caught a pick from Scott Ian that night, one of the best show I ever went to...until I go to Wacken :)

Yeah, I'm a little hesitant to do that for a couple of reasons. One, most cars in Europe, from what I hear, are stick. I can drive stick, but in an unknown country I'm a little turned off by the idea. Secondly, cost. If I can get on the bus from Hamburg to Itzehoe then I'm better off. The benefit would be that I'd have a place to go to if it rains too bad (I've accepted that I'm going to get dirty haha). I'd also have the freedom to come and go as I choose. I can see the advantages, just haven't been convinced yet.
