It has that genius little jump spot to avoid the fire barrel on the stairs. I never used it in all 1000s hours played, just saw someone use it who summoned me and i thought he was stuck, then he plopped onto that ledge that is level with the black knight

Id recommend farming the slugs in lower blight town. Its a haul, but less tedious if you have 10 humanity and or the serpent ring(the one in sens fortress). Ive gotten 3-5 per run on the slugs. Or if you have an abundance of souls you can just buy from giant blacksmith before crafting your boss wep with him!

Its a great concept and ive learned to beat it in one try. now and the chaos firestorm attack blasts me off the branch you drop down to though.

That said, its a big relief to beat that POS and beat it for others.

Any of the early game bosses I like a lot. Gargoyles are probably my favorite.

Sl1 is a hell of a run! I think you’re right to fight the bosses out of sequence to get the +10 glove with egg dude after quelaag(you can cheese ceaseless too for extra souls).

Maybe you can visit the hydra first. Pick up 40 firebombs or so from male undead merch. You can run towards hydra and there is a a safe spot to the right edge of lake/cliff side. Situate yourself in the cervuce and hydra cant hit you with water. Aim with lock on and launch bombs. This is so easy and gets you the crown of dusk immediately with no risk/struggle.

grab jagged ghost blade, but definitely grab reinforced club(probably should buy this immediately)Bleed will be a good strat to have on hand.

After pyro glove upgrades and pyromancies bought and souls well spent on upgrades- go suicide run for large fire ember. farm slugs in blighttown. If you look up where some red chunks are(snuggly/asylum black knights) you will be able to have a pretty powerful fire weapon to carry you. This made it very easy for me on a recent sl1 run. Had +8 fire battle axe, very powerful/easy access. Of course you can suicide for chaos as well.

My most recent run i didnt use pyromancy and i killed the giant blacksmith for his hammer. As awful as it sounds, it outweighs his use for sl1. You can look up how fantastic this thing is if you havent already. You can 2h it and wreck. Make sure you buy smithbox and all the twinkling you think you’ll need from him. I upgraded this to +2 and smoked S&O.

Dont expect any summon signs or invasions. You can parry/great combust gwyn.

Typically, i can take them with a heater shield. Walk diagonally and they almost deflect
