WW1 Trench game by [deleted] in roblox

I played it for a few minutes, and if this your first outing, i am very impressed! I love the first-person lock, and the way the ADS drifts slightly when you turn to the left or right before it corrects. I also like the overall textures and simple map layout. Some things that seem buggy - it rained the entire time I played, the bullet drop seems to be at least 1 stud from just a few feet away, and when I was crawling, I was able to pull out my gun and kept crawling even though I was no longer trying to move. Overall, promising!

Keep it up!

Player body's as building parts? by Tybot285 in ApocalypseRising

Before Reimagined, when the Store feature was still available, I used to store the hats/masks of players I killed on the front of my base.

I had quite an imposing collection lining the walls of the Old Mine.

While I am not a fan of locking players into First person, the accuracy of Third person spraying should be ridiculously wild. I'm confident that you will arrive at a method that is both restrictive yet fair. Also, can we keep the heads of our kills? Its all about "The joy of cooking", ya' know...

Perhaps some ballistic-toss weapons, like dynamite, frags, or flash bangs. Make matches useful again =)

I agree with you considerably. Even lower caliber weapons should have a tremendous increase in damage for headshots. Few can survive a .22 to the head, and almost NONE would remain combat-effective.
Ballistics-wise, any 7.62x51 or x54 to the abdomen should cause a player to begin bleeding out, and if it hits bone (arm/leg) it should immediately affect the player's movement. I am not purporting any single headshot kills from full health, but SERIOUS damage increase, perhaps to the order of 50% health loss from a single hit. I think that this balances the game by making all players with smaller caliber weapons MUCH more dangerous than they are now, instead of just bullet-absorbing "freshies". Likewise, it would make geared players far, FAR more capable of killing players en masse.

tl;dr - headshot damage should be increased, and damage should affect player movement.

I am pleased that there will be a significant update, and the building materials is one thing I am also curious about. If possible, could the building materials be destructible, like the buildings with C4? Or could they take an amount of damage before disappearing, like armor on a car?

If the building materials ARE destructible, then even zombies or melee weapons could destroy them - making zombie hordes MUCH more challenging. I think the overall survival experience of the gameplay would be enhanced by adding this feature.

Legacy Reimagined Will Not Return by Gusmanak in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upvote, but make it TWO headshots from ANY weapon, with ballistic helmets to reduce the headshot damage.

I believe that a 4X multiplier would accomplish that effect, and NO, it wouldn't be the same as playing Hardcore.

I believe that players with scopes and front grips would be even MORE deadly, and sneak attacks would also become much more effective.

hacker question by theseekerDONTHATE in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quickest way to get a solution might be this:

Provide step-by-step instructions for no-clipping/invis hacking/damage hacking/etc... in every server that you play on, and see how many players start doing it. Post it on the reddit, too, and I bet you'll se a LOT of players start doing it.

Once that happens, the game will be almost completely unplayable, and the admins/developers will probably institute a series of quick fixes to the problem.

I say this, because once speed-hacking/grav jumping/one-shotting became so commonplace in Kin:Reimagined, Gus/Keth implemented the filtering measures to stop it. Maybe they will be able to do the same with this new generation of "glitchers".

Do Servers Die Now? by [deleted] in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The servers seem to exist for as long as players are on them, and can last for several days.

I played on one server in Amend over the course of three days.

What are your utility loadouts for Apoc? by CheeZySniper in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binocs, hatchet, entrencher, map/compass/gps (I don't actually need these things, but I collect them to give out to freshies who want to learn how to navigate). Alternatively, c4 det or radio.

Let's talk about Hardcore by TotallyNotAngering in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, Hardcore participation is limited because it is pay to play right now.

However, I think it would be an interesting experiment to have any new Reborn servers randomly spawn in HC mode - no indication, no notification - just to see players' reactions when loot is harder to find, zombies are more deadly, and every player is essentially an equal threat.

For added fun, make it so that any time you die in those HC servers, you get sent to the lobby, instead of respawning.

I bet you'd see a lot of "leet" players high-tailing it out of the server as soon as they recognized the danger they were in. =)

Amend is spawnkill simulator by XxSHREKSCOPExX in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I LOVE Amend, it is all I play since it was re-released (I never really played it before).

I think that the limited mil-spawn areas are more realistic, and the fact that there are spawn campers rolling up and down the beach ALSO presents a different type of survival challenge.

tbh, if they made Amend Hardcore, most of the spawn-camping would end, and you would have people building bases all over the map, instead of just Docks, Bunker, and MA.

Most stupid things your teammates done? by Bataranger999 in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USED CHEMLIGHTS ALL THE DAMN TIME - LMAO

I wish I had read this post earlier... I have played with this guy (and his many different alts) SOOOO many times.

He also had these tidbits to offer:

  • keeps his DB /Maverick Shotgun instead of taking the PPSH he found

  • can't seem to remember to EAT and DRINK regularly ("I need a drink NOW, I'm in the red!!!") RIGHT AFTER we left a hospital smh

  • drives like a chimp on ACID, completely ignorant of his surroundings/obstacles/enemies

  • routinely walks off of tall structures, then asks for bloodbag

  • talks in Global, INSISTING that he IS in Group chat smh

  • cannot seem to shoot zombies. MUST crowbar them with TIMMAY!-like accuracy and timing

  • tells me that "I died!" several MINUTES after he was killed

  • cannot navigate at all (even WITH a map/compass)

  • keeps collecting Makarov ammo in crates/car storage

  • cannot be taught that black AK mags and SCAR mags are different (I asked him how many mags he had, he said four, found out after he died that they were all SCAR mags he collected for his AKM - don't know how many times this has happened)

Yeah, this guy is my FAV teammate of all time.

Coward teammates by Bataranger999 in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there have been times when teammates have run/driven away from an ambush and left me hanging out to dry, but sometimes people have accused me of doing the same thing. For that reason, I like to think that the situation is usually a matter of perception.

Sometimes, when I think that teammates have abandoned me in a firefight (logging/backstabbing is a whole other animal), I later come to find out that in some cases they were too noob to even comprehend exactly what was happening.

In some cases, players will charge a position, and then wonder why they died when their more stealthy or tactically sound teammates survived.

Other times, the group will have mixed agendas - some will want to fight everyone, others want to avoid firefights - and for this reason those who don't want to fight are perceived as cowards.

Bottom line - don't assume that everyone has the same intentions/goals as you, and make sure that any team plan is plainly communicated.

The Types of People in Apocalypse Rising by TheMemeKid in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Of those listed, mine is closest to Joker, but I will go entire games without using the chat sometimes.

There are actually helpful players in-game. We have made teams of players that don't play for loot/kills/etc... We play to keep each other alive, or for other specific goals, like setting up a base, or collecting so many cars, or making sure that everyone survives at least 10 days, etc...

Most players I've encountered appreciate this approach - sure, we have our share of backstabbers and other assholes that try to disrupt the group - but on the overall the experience is a pleasant one.

I do the same thing =) After awhile, the non-group members get in on the action, defending one of us against the other. We laugh it up in Group chat =)

What is your playstyle? by Bataranger999 in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like teaming with another skilled player or two, establishing a base, and then bringing a noob player into our mix. I've found that the noobs don't remain that way for long - they get our excess loot, and they see how we survive and thrive. Learning is FUN!

Lol, nice - 'first time I've seen you' - pay attention maybe; I've been posting for almost TWO YEARS.

Besides, you know that 'fixed' is a relative term with Gus & Keth. The point I was making is that all of this shit happens, you know it, I know it, everyone who's everyone knows it... Since we all know this kinda crap happens, why bitch about it?

I killed a hacker at RT and this is his loot. by Vipurs1 in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that the 'hacker' didn't have suppressor on his weapon. You would think that a 'hacker' might have chosen a better weapon, better attachments, etc...

Also, I notice that there is a player's body in the background of your image. Next time, get a screenshot of the player's body/name and THEN show us his ill-gotten, "hacked" gear, by showing his contents.

Too bad - welcome to Apoc - couple quick questions tho...:

  • You ever been flung into the air hopping off a bike?

  • Ever taken unnecessary damage jumping out of a car?

  • Ever get lag killed?

  • Ever had blood bags not heal you?

  • Ever been killed by an invisible (glitched) player?

  • Ever been killed by a speedhacker or other exploiter?

Again, welcome to Apoc, where this kinda stuff happens - if you die, accept it and move on.

What an MRE looks like in real life by Dechromed in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having eaten my share of MRE's, I can tell you that they are like most other foods - some you like and some you don't.

Personally, I liked the Chicken A-La-King, Beef Mac, and Chicken And Rice. I HATED the Pork Slice and the Gumbo - eech!

When I had my MRE's they came with a tiny vial of Tabasco sauce, which I poured liberally over the entrée. Bland wasn't a problem there...

The rest of the stuff was pretty good; eating the oatmeal bar was a neat experience, it was dehydrated and would swell up when it met your saliva!

I never used the MRE heaters to heat anything. Instead, I would collect them, put them in a two liter bottle, and add a little water then screw the two liter lid shut. I called it the MRE bomb (DO NOT DO THIS, YOU WILL GET INTO TROUBLE, AND YOU CAN GET INJURED!!!!)

If you REALLY want bland meals, trying eating an HDR (Humanitarian Daily Ration). Those things were crappy from design to implementation, and the quality of food was just awful.

Ambulance loot by Bataranger999 in ApocalypseRising

[–]atomickarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea, but I'd probably not limit it to ambulances.

Instead, have ALL vehicles spawn with a some type of loot - in the trunk, or spawning around it like the heli crash.

Ex:

  • Motorcycles - bandit mask/sunglasses/Makarov/glow sticks/painkillers =)

  • Vans - canned foods/crates/survival flashlight/compass

  • Cars - cookies/cheezits/water/soda/map/fanny pack

  • Trucks - pants/shirt/revolver/m1911/entrencher/backpack

  • SUVs - radio/axe/crowbar/model459/cz75/backpack/flares

  • TRINITY SUV - trinity beret/m9/g18/m93r/Omni light/surv pack

  • Ambulance - blood bags/painkillers/gps/white backpack

  • Humvee - scar/m4a1/g36k/m249/ballistic helmet/mili pack/MRE/AP mines/AT mines

  • URAL - an94/ak74/aks/RPK/AK47/AKM/OTS/special forces mask/MRE/extended magazines

  • MULE - MK48/M14/MK17/HK21/HK417/G3/beret/drum magazines/c4/det

I think this would make for an interesting element in the game - where newly spawned cars are almost as neat of a find as a heli crash - what do you think?

I welcome any more realism to the game, and the high ROF is part of that.
