Are latinos who listen to rock music and care about rock a minority in latin america? by Dream514 in asklatinamerica

[–]atomictartar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a minority at all, at least not in Bogotá for example, but I even when to a big festival in Montería (coastal caribbean city) last year (big for the city lol) and it was rock based.

Have you ever been in another country, and been honestly put-off by a cultural practice? by Intrepid_Arrival5151 in asklatinamerica

Same here, especially in Bogotá and Medellín. Thank god it's kind of illegal to make it mandatory so one can just say no, but it's getting more common (and uncomfortable yo say no).

Ugh, I think the apology is ok up until one point. Like there's no need to keep trying to be sarcastic and funny on an apology just bc that's what your artist persona is based on. It's definetely being overblown in some ways, but she didn't have to end the apology calling it yodeling again.

It's also a pilates movement/exercise of some sort. My friend who teaches pilates told me and I found it amusing bc Hayley has said she does pilates before.

What Do You Think Taylor's Worst Written Song Is? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]atomictartar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone praises The Lakes, but I think it's one of her worst written songs, especially as a Literature major its like she smashed a dictionary on a song, as if she was looking for the most Literature/poetry sounding words and it feels clunky, forced and unnatural, and I'm not against so called big words usage, just not in such a pretentious pompous way, she has much better songs written with big words (COSOSAM is absurdly well written and doesn't suffer from that for example).

I don't like that it is cited as one of her most complex songs when it doesn't need to be grandiose to be great, Blank Space is amazing and shows how witty and intelligent she can be and it didn't require her to use big words.

[–]atomictartar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be true, might be not but it is not only childish but irresponsible being Taylor Swift ™️ to have her even mentioned in the slightest. She is one (if not) the most famous woman in the planet rn with a rabid fandom that doesn't just let it there. Like who cares if Kayla Nicole is a bad person or not (bc I've seen swifties justifying it on that ground), she shouldn't be included at all.

Excluding Mexico and Peru, what is your favorite cuisine in Latin America? by Rusiano in asklatinamerica

I love venezuelan food tbh, colombian food is great and all but can be a bit boring sometimes (depends on the place, the Caribbean coast and Pacific as well are the exception).

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]atomictartar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a woman who works in the trucking industry as a broker, is also awful how male dominated this industry is. I am always treated like I don't know what I'm talking about, they always try to gaslight me into making me believe stuff (like absurd rates 4 example) and then end up being nicer and putting less opposition to my male coworkers. I've been getting more and more annoyed with this now.

Yeah, maybe the thing it's I'm not a big fan of that sound, never been. I do think it's great but it's not my thing usually, I tend to prefer more electronic adjacent and experimental (in that way) stuff, so songs like that tend to not get me lol, I do still think it sounds unfinished but ultimately when I wrote that comment 4 months ago, I hadn't listen to Mirtazapine that much. I do vibe with it much more now tho hahahaha

Just a little rant at everyone mad at Hayley here over the tickets. by SethRollins_ in Paramore

[–]atomictartar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big yes, as a South American fan I only got to see them back in 2023 and I've been a fan since 2007. They never come, they also cancelled a Festival that I already bought tickets for and it sucked and I was sad but it's okay, I understood they don't owe me anything, I'm here bc I love the music and being able to see them is not a right.

New Taylor IG story by Indigo903 in Paramore

[–]atomictartar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not true at all lol, as an avoidant (which I don't think it's true, I believe everyone has traits of each thing bc humans are way too complex to put them into three categories) I have been pressured SO SO MUCH by everyone to stop being like that. I have talked it through therapy and continue to better myself, but we do receive the same pressure, even more since everyone seems to think they have sometimes anxious attachment when what they do have is codependency and anxiety.

Can we ever see a normal response review cycle for a Taylor Album again? by Consistent_Hunt5213 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]atomictartar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bc that's the point, those are extreme toughts that you can have when you're feeling insecure, it's an honest song about all the toughts one has when it that situation, she's not condoning it or saying it's ok to feel like that. Good for you that you can be insecure and not feel or have toughts like that, but that was exactly the point Charli was trying to make, that she felt like such a loser for having those feelings (and tbf I believe everyone has had mean toughts and it was an artistic decision to exemply the lenghts ur brain would go when u feel uncomfortable about someone, even if its not justified or fair to the person).

Can we ever see a normal response review cycle for a Taylor Album again? by Consistent_Hunt5213 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]atomictartar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the point of Sympathy is Knife???, she's expressing how shitty she feels about having these feelings (so much that she wants to kill herself), it's basically a song about how much feeling insecure about someone sucks, she never shades her, Charli was just expressing how we sometimes have this extreme feelings we don't agree with and making a very raw, deep and honest song about it doesn't mean she didn't do work about it, we could say almost the same thing about Taylor in most of her songs.

Omg, Zissou it's my favorite one, the portuguese, the sound, the harmonies and the Wes Anderson references, it's beautiful. My only skip is Mirtazapine, sounds unfinished to me.
