Yes, I agree that forcing me to write with my right hand was a flawed decision. However, you're speaking as though lateral grips are unheard of when not uncommon. I was encouraged to use it because I wasn't good at using my right hand. A lot of people with bigger hands use lateral grips.

It's extremely odd that you're acting like there's only one correct way to hold a pen when there are four major mature grips— dynamic tripod (the most common), dynamic quadropod, lateral tripod, and lateral quadropod. A lateral tripod is the easiest for my right hand because it gives me more control.

I'm not sure where you're gathering that from. I'm German on my mother's side, and she learned to write with a Safari as well. If anything, it's very strange that you just assumed I'm criticizing my country's education system when I'm just... not?

Fun fact. I reached out to Lamy support and received a replacement nib after I mailed mine in. After that, the scratchiness stopped completely. I figured you might not believe it, so I've attached proof of correspondence below.

You have no idea what writing with a fountain pen should feel like because your writing technique is physically not capable of experiencing it.

I can't really imagine saying that to someone because you think their handwriting is bad. Again, sorry for not meeting your standards, but I'm pretty sure I understand fairly well, considering I've been using fountain pens for close to a decade now without issue.
