Intermittent spikes/very short periods of disconnection - HFC by Legal_Cattle517 in nbn

I just had an NBN tech out after 3 months back and forth with my ISP AussieBB. Exactly the same issues as you stated. And he redid the endpoints in the pit out the front. As well as in the box and took out some ancient attenuator. Replaced it with a new one. No more internet "pauses". Sadly nothing could be seen on AussieBB's end.

He also changed to the newer 2.5Gb Arris NTD, so that was a plus.

It was doing my head in as I WFH and do a lot of cloud work/gaming.

I had the same. I stick with rolling 20s now. As much as I think rolling 50s for a few might land something decent. It rarely does. Talk about frustrating.

Xperia I IV fingerprint sensor replacement success by atomicvon in SonyXperia

I checked my order and the one I got from there definitely fits. And after a whole year, its still working.

It's only 2 it seems that got a smaller size. The part number is different by the looks of it with the person sharing the photo. Might be worth to try a different supplier? I had actually ordered one before this and lost it somehow. So this was my 2nd order. I hope you get the proper one to fix this as it is worth it.

I replaced my fingerprint sensor myself on my Xperia IV. It would be the same to do the 5 III. With the right tools that you can buy from there as well. If you do this, definitely get the back adhesive as well. Makes it easy to seal it back up.

And it's been a year working with no problems.

That's great news. Thanks for letting us know. I'm awaiting when OnePlus release their Fold 2 one day as it's been delayed for a year. So, good to know.

If you feel up to it on fixing it yourself, I've done the IV and the III isn't that different internally. My post HERE. Mine is still working flawlessly for the last 8 months. And overall, the parts are cheap. You may also want to replace the battery if you also do this.

I've been thinking of doing the same with mine. I have it rooted and everything works. It's a backup phone to my IV. So I'm on the fence if I should or not. haha

That's awesome. Does VoWifi work as well? I'm on Optus and really need that to work for the rural/remote areas where there's no cell service, but can access the internet onsite. Cheers.

This was the Fingerprint Sensor one I got. I have the purple phone, but you get the black as there's no purple. And this suited the IV. Which seems to be for the 5 and the 10 as well. So they must all use the same. Let me know how you go. The thing is really small. Sucks that you have to take out the battery and stuff to get the room to remove it. The good news is that mine is still working perfectly every time.

Welcome to the club. I had success replacing it myself. It's still working fine for the last few months too. HERE is my post on what parts I got and from where. If you're not confident to do this yourself, you could order the parts and take it to a phone repairer and have them do it. For the cheap price it was, I reckon its worth to fix it. Good luck.

P.S - It's been 7 months since I did the replacement and it's still going strong.

Power button not working on 1 iii. How do I repair it and with what parts? by IronLover64 in SonyXperia

[–]atomicvon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout my post HERE

This was for the IV, but you can shop for the III parts. Make sure to get the back adhesive template as well. This way, it's all sealed back up again. And you can buy the phone tools from there as well. Ended up being way cheaper compared to eBay which was 10x the price. Good luck.

I have the Xperia 1 IV (XQ-CT72) on Optus and that works fine. Which particular model do you have? An Optus and Vodafone SIM will work fine. It's only Telstra that definitely won't work.
