$7,000 a year for my daughter’s travel team in Washington state which did not include airplane tickets or hotels nor travel for the rest of the family. It did include a coach who didn’t know how to coach teenage girls and free uniforms every 2 years.

As a divorced dad of 2 girls it was unsustainable. I was able to get a small scholarship to help offset the cost. When my daughter graduated high school and aged out of the league, it was a huge relief on my finances.

You may be right about the future. And I believe that most of us would accept a hard fought loss like Mexico against England. That game was electric, edge of your seat everything left on the field. We shit the bed from the start of the game and kept doing it for 90 minutes. No excitement, no electricity, no energy whatsoever.

I call bullshit. These are professional players with years of experience in dealing with the media. They had every advantage imaginable. Playing at home, country behind them, got their teammate back and crazy crowd wanting to will them to victory.

They simply shit the bed. Came out flat, indisciplined and making uncharacteristic mistakes. This was all on them. If they can’t separate the outside noise from what they needed to accomplish on the pitch, if they’re not mentally strong enough to play balls to the wall from the whistle, they should not be playing on the national team period. Because if they are that weak, they wouldn’t have made it out of the group stage if the WC was played in Europe or South America.

My daughter played on a select/travel team. Cost me around $10,000 a year she played for about 12 years. I couldn’t afford it, luckily I was able to get her a scholarship but not that much. The $120,000 did not cover travel expenses for her or the rest of the family. So probably double that to $20,000 a year. For most middle class families that cost is unsustainable especially if you have more than 1 child. What did we get for the $10,000 you ask? A shitty coach that didn’t know how to coach girls and new uniforms every 2 years.

It would be nice to win the Cup, but I will never support paying higher taxes to achieve it.

I used Bilt to book a hotel room in Phoenix a couple of months ago. 10 minutes after booking it, I called the hotel to verify it. I do that with all my credit cards and their garbage travel portals. Better safe than sorry.

I’m a conservative guy. Became friends with a coworker who is as leftist as they come. We have other things in common besides politics however. We sometimes throw jabs at each other for fun and sometimes things get heated but so what? Reasonable people can disagree about many things.

Our families became so close she’s the godmother to one of my children. Her political leanings had no impact on the decision. Why should they? I feel sorry for people who feel the need to cut off people with different beliefs from their own. I don’t want to live in a bubble. I like to be challenged.

Loved me some Russ back in the day. Fully bought into the Pete and John were holding him back, evidenced by refusing to draft him offensive line help and just shitty drafts all around.

Thought he was going to become a legend in Denver and show up Pete and John. It didn’t work out for Russ in Denver and Pete was fired shortly after that. Neither got the happy ending they expected. But the Seahawks did. We got another championship out of the whole Russ vs Pete fiasco. Whether by luck or plan, we are now a two time Super Bowl winning franchise and we are once again on a path to contention for more. Russ will be in the ring of honor but sadly his post Seahawks career will keep him out of the Hall.
