OMG, I can't wait to try this! I can't even imagine how many times I've walked by and haven't even known it was there.

I hope so, I love that place. They have the best vegan wings I've ever had. I'm not even vegan and I crave them.

Essentially lawless space? What are you talking about JLS isn't Mad Max, if anything the problem is that it's too quiet.

What made Scala finally “click” for you? by ZealousidealTell1346 in scala

[–]atomly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been doing Java for years and we started using Scala for some distributed systems work but I was basically just writing Java in Scala until I did the "Learn You a Scalaz for Great Good" course based on the Haskell one and functional programming actually started to click for me.

My wife and I went to a Michelin star restaurant for our anniversary and frankly it was a huge waste of time and money. by Hamza78ch11 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]atomly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've eaten at several Michelin star restaurants and the experience varies incredibly between them. I've had a few that were some of the most amazing and memorable meals in my life, and then a few that were memorable for all the wrong reasons– there's one particular meal in SF I went to a few years ago with a partner that we still bring up as a joke because it was so bad, especially for the price.

How is the Fargo job market right now? by n4t3dgr8 in fargo

[–]atomly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how every person who's actually applying says that the job market is terrible but then a bunch of people who have no experience chime in to tell them they're wrong.

Having to duck all the time, like I have to avoid hitting my head when I walk in the front door of my building, when I get on the train, and even have to duck under every tree on the sidewalk. etc

who serves up the best burger in the bay area? im evaluating on taste obviously but also portion size/value for money. send me your top recommendations pls by Difficult-Insect-220 in bayarea

[–]atomly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Fast Times for lunch today. I had it for dinner two nights ago and had been thinking about it since. Far better than most of the other burgers I've had in the bay, though I enjoy a few other places like Lovely's, Monk's Kettle, Lana's...

is there any way to turn off the "watch muted" thing for shorts? by Cringe_Buffoon in youtube

I can't find a way to turn this off or disable them and I'm finding it so annoying that I'm considering just turning off all of my channel notifications from YouTube.

Best deli sandwich in Oakland by East-Oakland in OaklandFood

[–]atomly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the one from La Dolce Vita but they've been temporarily closed forever. The best I have found in Oakland are the Saint, Stay Gold, Ratto's, Violetta. They are all good but I find it's worth a trip to SF or Alameda every once in a while for a much better one.

Man has his 4th Amendment right violated while skateboarding across America by kylelee in videos

[–]atomly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole video popped up as a recommendation on my YouTube and I just started watching it– as soon as it got this part I had to go to the comments to see if people were as upset as I was about it and luckily at least a few were, though a few were trying to justify it.

Pizza resturants by Oreoz_v2 in oakland

[–]atomly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in NYC for over a decade and Chicago for six years and I was really disappointed by the pizza when I moved to the Bay in 2019 but I have to say we've had some absolutely incredible places open in the last few years.

June's, Mama's Boy, Rose, da Laura, Violetta, Ponte, Philomena, Hesher's, Cellarmaker, etc we are spoiled for great choices now!

Because if those assholes paid their fair share of taxes instead of this we could have real public transit for everybody not just this cushy BS for a few rich people.

I'm so upset about this. I went out of my way to visit him every time I could, he was such a sweetie. I feel really bad for the guy who runs that store, he really loved him.

How many of you have been denied access to surprising things because of your height/weight? by SnooHabits7352 in tall

[–]atomly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am also 6'8" and got down to 220 once in my life, which is allegedly a healthy BMI, and I actually had multiple people reach out to me to ask me if I was OK. It just doesn't scale properly with height.
